The center is understaffed. There are days when things go crazy if they get behind. The treatment area is often cold. The techs and nurses have a habit of turning on the AC (in winter). It is the patients comfort that is supposed to be what is considered, not the workers. Other Fresnies centers in the area have been updated with new chairs, more privacy, and chairside TV's that also have connection to the net and games. It took a patient in Biddeford to circulate a petition which every patient signed to get chairside TVs. They did not, however, put in the internet with it. Patients can access the internet through the centers wifi, however, Fresenies blocks any site they consider unseemly and ones that they think their techs may access and abuse. So, once again, the patients are paying for the actions of the techs. Since the patients are paying the freight that keeps the center open and the doc receiving five hundred dollars a month from stopping at a patient's chair to say hi, how you doing for five minutes a week, patients should have full access to the net while they are dialyzing. The techs are generally nice and are well versed in their jobs, however, they do have one or two people working who you wonder why they are still there. They also have a couple of talkers that interfers with getting things done. They also have a strange system where they take patients in to be put on their machines by how long thay have been on dialysis, not by who arrived first. A newer patient could have been waiting a half hour and a patient who has been on dialysis for five years walks in and they take that person in instead of the person who has been waiting for a while. Overall, they do good, satisfactory work there. Some of the techs and nurses are awesome. Treat going to dialysis as going to a job, as that is what it really is, a job to keep you living.
