This was a hard and trying time for a torn apart family the father was in his daughters home and Hartland came in with such care and compashion not only for the father but for each of the children that were there and Also for the ones that could not be there. They were very promp when arriving even when being called on short notice. They allowed the family to do the things they were comfortable doing for their father and were there for the others. When new equipment was needed it was there. Thay seemed to know what was going to be needed. The staff nurses and social worker took the time to explain what was happening. The staff from Hartland that came into that house were truely angles that took this man on his last journy on this earth. They took the time to help this family heal even if it was even just a little. Their care did not stop after the death of this man they continue to help this family heal through the death of their father. I would recommend them to every one

The nurse assigned was half an hour late in arriving at the home in which she was to give care to the patient. From there, she glanced at the patient for a maximum of three minutes before leaving the home, declaring she thought he was unfit to be home, and refusing to take the client on as a patient. The nurse left, leaving the client in a vulnerable and potentially life threatening situation after refusing to give the client any of the care which the nurse was responsible in administering.

When my mother died on May 22, 2011, the volunteer who came to "help" was quite drunk. She should not have been driving anywhere let alone trying to help a grieving family. I intend to file a full report about this in writing to the State. Also the Nurse attending my mom had the medication so messed up that it really interferred with her ability to just be pain free and die comfortable. The nurse you sent on the weekend, finally made her comfortable and her poor body was allowed to be at peace. I am not happy with your hospice at all.
