I found them to talk a good game to the family, but that is to get the family to use their agency. They ensured my family that the only reason the foley cath was necessary was so my mother would not lay in urine and develop bedsores. Well the sorry nurse never check the foley which obviously leaked because my dying mother laid in urine and developed three different bedsores then proceeded to blame the family who asked them to check it. My family managed to care for my mom 8 months with no bedsores. She in their care managed to do nothing.

Details:

My mother was sent home with hospice 4 1/2 years ago. I was always called from my work, by my sister, when hospice worker came. I suggested a chart be maintained for medication, which my sister was administering-she did not work and I was taking care of the family business. This was not done and my mother was given morphine every 5 to 15 minutes, which was not needed. I was never contacted after her death by hospice. Hospice tried several times to contact my sister by phone and visit, but failed. It was as if I was not a family member. Hospice, you need to clean up your act, as far as I am concerned you helped to MURDER my mother!
