The hospital is what the doctors can make of it. In October of 2010 I went in to have surgery with a vey incompetent neurosurgeon who not only left me paralyzed from neck down by his incompetence, but also lied in my medical records and never completed his job. The hospital released me after a week while I still had fever and I ended up coming back to ICU, getting intubated for weeks in semi coma. He had five malpractice cases in a two year term a few years ago and still there. This is the kind of doctors they have at St Vincent.

Have gone to the ER three times and received four sets of discharge orders to one uninterested and three inappropriate doctors; my health condition worsened even when I returned to the ER, as instructed, with tortuous pain and debilitation. Afterwards, I received a call from the hospitals "risk management" office wanting more information so they could "help" me; they weren't interested in helping and haven't. I believe their cross needs to be removed to an appropriate place of caring.

My husband was often hospitalized there for his severe cellulitis . The staff were very kind and caring. Later my husband had congestive heart failure and again he had a wonderful cardiologist. I my self recently had breast surgery which was a success. I had a surgeon from St Vincents do the surgery . The staff was friendly and patient while they had to get me ready for the surgery , which took awhile to do. I feel they are the best hospital in this region due to promtness, a caring attitude, and cleanliness.
