I was resently sent into the emergency room of the Red Bank Riverview medical center Nj. My experience with the staff was unbelievably unacceptable and unprofessional. Marcella a nurse in the emergency room should never speak to a patient the way she spoke to me. Expecially a patient who was in my condition. I politely asked her for a larger plastic cup, because I needed to give a urine sample for testing. When I asked this nurse she said " what are you 90 years old we only get cups if you're old just pee into it I mean come on" it was in a very nasty tone and she acted as if I asked her to hold the cup for me. I didn't ask for much and I wasn't rude. She then proceeded to laugh at me with a male staff member. This was both embarrassing for me an unacceptable behavior from a "professional nurse". Marcella is not the only nurse that was disrespectful in the emergency room staff but she was the only one I was able to get the name of. There were a couple of nurses that need a serious attitude change. They never know what a person is going through. Expecially if we are treating you with respect and we are your patience we should most definitely be treated with the upmost respect.

Husband thought he was having heart attack, emergency room old and dirty. Spent 8 hrs waiting for a bed. Kept him there for four days without tests before a transfer to another hospital. Turned out to be acid reflux. Skeevy

Arrivedby ambulance -Subarachnoid hemorrhage - taken off bed by nurse and put in waiting room. After my son threatened them that I was stroke victim, they waited two hours to perform a CAT - 3 hours to transfer to another hospital for brain surgery After requesting my records, discovered mistreatment, and lies and discrepancies such as stating I was a walk - in , an hour AFTER I was brought in etc. NJ STATE is investigating and only a miracle has me alive to tell my story. P.S. this is a stroke hospital funded by YOUR tax dollars. Call your State and tell them.

The emergency room staff are uncaring and incompetent. The nurse who installed my catheter couldn't figure out how to put it together. I had to return to ER the next day because she made my problem worse.I laid in the ER with acute bladder retention with severe pain and was totally ignored. They refused to send the Urologist on call and told me I need to wait for the ER doctor. The worst ER experience in my entire life. On top of all this my Urologist called to tell me I had a highly resistant staff infection which had to come from the ER

Riverview's staff is mediocore, at best. Their Billing Department is not only inefficient; they are morons. They refused to follow up on a 10 month long billing problem with the secondary insurance company, Horizon Medigap (also located in N.J.),even though a simple phone call to Horizon would have resolved the problem. Instead they harrassed me, a patient and senior citizen, by repeatedly sending me eight copies of the same bills. When I tried to straighten out this mess with Riveriew's billing department, I found them surly and dull witted. Riverview is part of Meridian--avoid anything they "manage" at all costs. I have talked to local nurses who say that working at Riverview or any Meridian facility is a nightmare.

Although my overall experience with riverview was not great..Certain staff members who are truly an asset to this hospital. I was admitted on June 17th. I wanted to write to express my heartfelt thanks to a few of your Nurses and assistants as well as my Surgeon and of course Dr Choi. One of my nurses Kristina Poli and another Anna Wysocki were Professional, Caring and always available to help in any way they could. There are also 2 other people Debbie Kehoe and Wanda (not sure of last name) both as caring and warm and helpful during my stay. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart..They were just Great! Dr Woodriffe my surgeon, and Dr Choi..many many..thanks. These beautiful talented women should be recognized for their service to Riverview Medical Center.
