My roomate had a laminectomy, as did I. She needed to go to the bathroom, and could not get assistance and, after waiting for sometime, tried to get up without assistance. She fainted in the bathroom. I could not help her since I, too, was recovering from surgery. I rang he emergecy bell and no one came. Finally, her fiance ran in and stood her up by bracing her against his body.
