Our Family has had a lot of interaction with Our Lady of Mercy in the past 15 years. My Grandma Kangas lived there from October 1993 - April of 2003. My mother's brother, Robert (Bob)Newman has been there for a few years now after suffering a stroke. His wife took care of him herself at home for a long time, but it was really too much for any one person to handle alone at home. He's unable to verbalize his thoughts. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be. My mother's sister, Marion Dwyer, will be 84 in December. She's been there for less than a year. Her family, and especially her dear son, cared for her for many years at home. They found it increasing difficult to care for her as her Alzheimer's progressed. She much safer where someone can watch her 24/7 and she's as happy as can be living there. Everyone loves her dearly. Bob and Marion are in rooms across from each other.
