We had constant billing problems at this facility. Even after our loved one passed away and we sent them a notice and a death certificate, they sent us a bill two years after the death. There are not enough workers and their training is not adequate. Out of all the nursing homes our dad was in, this was by far the worst.

My father was in several nursing homes due to one closing and Cambridge East giving horrible care by not listening to the family and not having enough workers. We told them our father needed a monitor/alarm on his wheelchair because he was a fall risk. They did not put the alarm on his wheelchair and he fell and broke his hip and died soon after. Just the worst nursing home ever! They said he didn't try to get out of the wheel chair when they were around so they didn't think he was a fall risk. Our father had been a fall risk for 3 years and had been in two other nursing homes one of which moved to another location which is why we moved him to Cambridge East. Both the other nursing facilities used precautions and always had a monitor/alarm on dad's wheel chair. Cambridge East does not have carpeting, only hard floors so if someone falls it is disastrous. To not listen to the family when we say he is a fall risk is just unacceptable. We decided not to sue them because I couldn't remember the name of the person I spoke to when I originally told them dad was a fall risk. Beware of this nursing facility. They do not care, the workers are lazy and there are not enough workers to go around. Always ask how many aids there are for how many rooms. I wish I would have known to ask this.

Details:

Our father often has wet pants because they don't toilet him and change his brief often enough. This is a common occurence. Yesterday when I arrived to visit with him, his room smelled of urine. When I sat down on the side of his bed my pants got soaked with urine and I had to remove my pants to drive home so the car seat wouldn't get full of urine. We are looking for a new facility for our father.
