If you love your loved ones, DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER this HELL HOLE. In the 2 weeks I was there, the home called the police on 5 patients. One lady dying of bone cancer was arrested, handcuffed and taken to the police station because she and a e-cigarette in her room, which the staff took it upon themselves to search through all her personal belongings. The police broke her arm when they put the handcuffs on her. A 20 year old parapalegic was being by one of the nurses for complaining about her care. The nurse would leave her in her wheelchair for 20 -40 minutes whenever she needed to go to the bathroom. When the young girl told her boyfriend, he complained to the nurses. They told him they would call the police and have him arrested, since the nurses said the incident never happened and he was threatening them. Another incident happened to the sweetest 80 something feeble old man. he had a appt. at the hospital where he'd had his surgery. The chief floor nurse took him out to the open nurse's station and told him he couldn't leave with his catheter in since she said it belonged to the facility. In fact, it belonged to the hospital, which sent him there and the facilities 'unused' catheter was still in his room. This chief nurse stuck her hand down his pants in full view of her nursing staff and patients, in the area. She then stuck the catheter under this sweet old man's nose and said something to the effect, "what are you going to do - whip it out and wave it (meaning his penis) in front of everyone when over there? All her nurses stood in a circle around him and laughed until their sides should have split. This old man was beyond humiliation. She totally emasculated him and robbed him of any sense of dignity he had left at the end of his life. I know because he told me so himself and did his son to whom the old gentleman confided and the son then corroborated with me. Of note, every incident occurred between a black nurse, or aide and a white, Hispanic or Jewish 'inmate. There are several equally horrific incidents that occurred during my 2 week stint there, one which almost killed a sweet stroke victim; the lady was paralyzed completely on one side.It would take a page or two to tell you what the did to her - I informed her daughter of what I witnessed, and she was beside herself, since the nurses always watched out for family members. As soon as they arrived the nurses suddenly appeared beside the patient, fluffing her pillow and straightening her body up from where it had been helplessly and painfully been flopped over motionless for hours, while the nurses and aides hurried off for their breaks and other unknown destinations - ignoring the patients in their care! I can't even go into what they did to me...

my mother hit the buzzer because she had thrown up and it took almost 1 hour for someone to come in to help her and get rid of the VOMIT. Then we had to call to see if someone could put up the side rails and was told they would do it right away. Not so took awhile and then it was a helper that finally was passing by and my mother called her and she did it. Then the nurse tells my mother that she is the only nurse there. That is not something you tell the patient. CALL YOUR SUPERVISOR TO GET MORE HELP ON THE FLOOR.. I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS ABOUT THE PATIENT NOT THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Avoid this place like the plague. Father went in for IV care and PT and all they are concerned with is about PT and OT. For that nonsense 10 people a day come in, but good luck trying to get help for basic necessities like using the bathroom.

This is the worst place came here on the states reviews what a mistake if this is good per the state I can't imagine what the other facilities are like send the CNA's are very lazy they hid in chairs in between the the rooms in the hallways and do not answer the call buttons and when they do come when the call button is pressed many times you wait in excess of 45 min they don't want to help you they make you wait even longer the nursing staff is very slow to answer any questions and they seem very unprofessional! I'm moving to another facility tomorrow

This facility is horrible. Administrators, nurses, and CNAs are worthless. They have horrible work ethic, give horrible care, are negligent and continually make excuses for the lack of care. I would give no stars if it was an option. The only decent care was from the OT, PT, and speech therapists. Changed to another facility and it was like heaven in comparison.

All they care abt is collecting their medicare $. Will keep most (unless the patient's mind is good enough to speak up) until medicare runs out. Park people in wheelchairs for 7 + hours, ignore calls from room buzzer, make excuses for all of their laziness, have learned all the ways to get away with not doing what the administrator "thinks" they are doing, am told they are short handed but the front desk has a crowd socializing, hiding their texting under the desk or looking at newspaper ads. Make up conditions to administer drugs without consulting family. You can't get a straight answer from a nurse or supervisor. "PATIENT given x drug for x condition" , when asked who diagnosed condition they don't know. When asked why the family was not notified of x drug in case there was a previous negative reaction, they don't know why.

Fail to monitor patient's w/ KNOWN breathing issues. Use excuses like patient pulled out oxygen & put on floor! Don't really take their responsibilty for care seriously. It's too easy to blame serious issues that occur on the health of the patient. I asked how they would know if a patient was in distress? Said they wouldn't!!

The "Therapy" was GREAT for stroke rehab!! Food is average but always on time,,,but definitely not terrible...and you can change your item if you do not like what you get. Staff is generally nice, but the AIDS are a bit aloof, and it really depends what staff you have on your floor. Came from Kessler first, so have good comparison. For "Intensive" rehab go to Kessler first, them here after for longer term if needed. While Kessler therapy is top notch, and there is more Nursing more staff and more attentive Kessler is an an Acute Care facility. Choose this over Care One or local Nursing Home that offers Therapy..., and MUCH BETTER THEN A NURSING HOME OPTION!!!

This facility reuses non reusable medical equipment (bi-paps). They have high turnover especially in higher positions (Administration, Director, Assistant Director of Nursing, head RN). Their care is lacking and those needing quality care other than ortho work will be sent to a hospital worse off than they came. Sub par care in a pretty facility.

What a wonderful experience! I have been to places before (for my knee and hip) but i wish i have known this place long time ago. Therapy was great, nurses were friendly and activities were pretty interesting (they have casino days ala AC). This place is also not your typical nursing home -- they have a lot of young patients that i made friends with. One comment though, food could be better -- but you know what to expect about "hospital food". I am walking good and able to drive again --and they deserve my praises.

This place is very poor. Most of the problems lay with the staff. Nurses r not very good, quitting and than being rehired within weeks, even after they just walked off job in middle of shifts. Nurses aids r more interested in sitting and talking to each other, and sleeping on night shifts. Wrong meds given to at least 5 different people including myself, at least i was aware , so i didn,t take them. But others who didn,t have their faculties i don,t know what they could do. I was there on 2 occasions, never would go there again, in fact my orthopedic surgeon, tells his patients not to go there. Also when state authorities came around, all of a sudden things changed for 3 days, and i was questioned by the state authorities at the facility were upset with me.

Overall a horrible experience! Most of the nurses and aids were good. However they did not follow doctor’s orders for a shower everyday which caused a sore on the buttocks to become infected. We questioned the social workers about a discharge date because we had heard stories about a quick 48hr discharge. The social worker almost fell out of the chair when we mentioned this and said “we would never do that” “we would give you at least a weeks notice”. Surprise, we received a call a week later saying the patient is being discharged in 48hrs. When the social worker was questioned she hung up the phone. I cannot believe so called care givers would lie so blatantly. Karma is all I have to say.

They were quit attentive to us upon Dads admission. We viewed the place prior and all looked well. However first day Dad fell trying to get out of bed also on day one lost part of his dentures and would not take responsibility for it. Day three he fell out of bed yet again. They were Not in contact with his doctor as we asked to make sure he was getting all his necessary meds so he was lacking a key medication. Also they were giving him something he should not have had which caused bathroom accidents. He lasted a week and we took him right out. This may only be for the very alert patient that is self sufficient not the elderly.

Overall, things LOOK good after one week there, but the thing that bothers me most is that on more than one occassion they PARK the patients in a wheel chair no where near to call bell or TV remote. Sitting for 1 1/2 hrs or more WAITING is horrible treatment. Patient had cell phone in his pocket on these occassions, called family member and family had to call nurse station.
