My mother was there for about 3months. It was hard placing my mother in a nursing home for her dementia but I couldnt take care of her at home. Meanwhile, while i visited my mother I noticed her clothes started missing and some other items. I asked to speak with the charge nurse Stephanie and she blew me off. While talking on the phone to maybe her child. I patiently waited, finallyshe got off the phone and told me, my mother didnt own what I said she have.I shown her the recites that I had from mashalls and she still didnt believe me. Im talkimg about 4pair of pj sets bras underwear undershirts jeant and ect. She STEPHANIE THE UNIT MANAGER STATED, that it wasnt documented on admission by the aide because of the shortness of staff. They never gave me the money that I spent although the girl from laundry told her that she labeled all the items that WAS ON THE RECITE. WITHIN THAT WEEK I TOOK MY MOM OUT OF THERE. That place is terrible I feel so bad for the patients that dnt have anyone to stick up for them. Its so sad. Im glad my mother is out of there.

Some of the medical staff, the RNs and LPNs were adequate. The Orthopedic Rehab. room was well-staffed and the most professional of the services offered. The food was dreadful; and the nursing aids, almost to a person, were not there to care for a patient, only to draw a salary. Some were verbally abusive to the patients under their care. The nurses station seems to be the place for the staff to gather, talk, gossip, and laugh, instead of caring for the patients. Two or three caregivers were really splendid; the rest, not so good. I would never return to "The Palace" nor would I recommend that anyone I know go there.

The staff does not respond to call buttons in a timely fashion. The place STINKS!! Probably because residents are left to wait for too long for a response to the call button. They soil themselves and then the place smells terribly. Items of clothing and money are stolen or disappear. Trying desperately to get my loved one out of there. When working with management it seems like you are just getting the run around. Residents wander the halls and into other rooms. Have even seen them behind the nurses station sitting in dazed confusion. I recommend that an audit be done unannounced so the state and others would see the true condition of this place!! We witnessed a staff member getting loud and downright mean with a resident who's probably on medication. This staff member was yelling at the resident for not remembering something! Hello! do you remember everything and your not on Med's are you?

If you have a family member in the palace before it was the Palice. You or your family member SS checks may have been stolen for years. Then years later they say you never followed a claim and have to start a new claim. I say it is impossible for ss to not be able to find your ss number from the past. Someone is covering up somthing and they the crimmials may still work there. The new owners of the palice are trying to make it better.
