Do not take your family to this place. My brother in law went there from the hospital and left in worse shape than when he went in, they let him roll down a hill in a wheel chair and get hurt then kicked him out becuase they said he was a liability. Two days after he was sent home he was rushed to the hospital and within 48 hours was in cricital care on a vent. They were also giving him 3 times more medication than he was suppose to have in a day. They are short staffed and the places smells like urine all the time. Keep your family safe and far away from this place.

Even though this facility is older, I have found the dedication of the staff to the residents to be very heartwarming. There are more staff at this nursing home than I have ever seen before. They are busy, busy, busy! All the staff are friendly and seem to genuinely care about those they care about. One big thing for me is that when I entered it for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised when I did NOT smell urine. This is a big plus for me as my mother has been in others that reek of it. They take pride in their place and try to be helpful to everyone. Their current doctor is more attentive than others I have had the opportunity to work with and I was impressed that he came to visit my mother several times when she requested it. Most people I talk with there say they are well pleased with the care their loved ones have been given and these are people who (formerly worked there as CNAs as well as other family). On the plus side, this facility has resident dog who the folks there are crazy about. I am not afraid to leave my mother in this place. Another friend had a relative there and remarked how well she was cared for. I believe whoever wrote this article needs to revisit Goldenview Living Center.

This facility is not where I would place any of my family members. They are extremely short staffed and some of the staff are not so friendly towards the residents. Always rushed and I find that the care is not adequate. I find that this is due to the fact that the facility does not care for their employees. I feel the employees should get every other weekend off to spend time to rest and spend with their families. This employer does not offer this and I believe that its very hard on those whom work there. Especially if you are a single parent. I also believe that they do not keep up with the needs of the residents. The facility is very unorganized as well. I believe if they treat staff well, then staff will work well. My opinion. There have also been issues with this facility in the news. Do your research. Good Luck!

Residents who are unable to do for themselves are "parked" in a hall/lobby in front of a TV with little or no interaction with staff. Physical needs are overlooked, and help with feeding is ignored resulting in food spills on clothing and wheelchairs. There does not seem to be enough staff to properly care for the residents, or else, the staff is poorly trained (possibly both).
