My father was at Heritage Hall for one month until his passing. He was treated with the utmost care and compassion while he was there. I have found that it is the family's responsibility to always check on their family member and be consistently in communication with the staff regarding their loved ones care. The staff have a lot on their plate, work really hard with elderly in wheelchairs, some with dementia, bedridden, some unable to talk, etc. It is really a tough job and not a lot of pay. While I was there one evening, one of the aides was sitting in front of one of the rooms with a resident's bed right next to her in the hallway and one in the room because they had a tendency of getting out of their beds. She wanted to make sure they did not get up and hurt themselves. Another resident was constantly yelling for the help when there was absolutely nothing wrong with her. She had the poor aides running in her room constantly. The nurses are very accommodating and they listen to your requests. So my family and I have no complaints about this facility. Again, it is the family's responsibility to stay in communication with the staff regarding their loved ones care and checking up on them. As for the food, some days it was pretty good and some days pretty bad.

I arrived at the facility to bring flowers to a woman I didn't know and walked to the front desk. There was no one in sight. So I poked around the corner knocked on some office doors, couldn't find any staff members anywhere. After waiting about 10 minutes my friend and I decided to just look ourselves and we walked into the back to see if we could find some sort of a nurses station or the room number I had on the card. I passed several rooms looking like hospital rooms with patients laying in the beds. Eventually we reached the room of the lady we were delivering flowers to. Inside were two well-made beds, but not a person in sight. We saw what appeared to be a nurse’s station further down so we kept walking to see if we could find a staff member. Across from the nurses station was what I would call a wide hallway with a tv on the wall. There were probably 20 seniors plopped in their wheelchairs in front of the tv heads fallen forward looking like drugged up zombies. It was eerily reminiscent of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, but much sadder when you realized these people weren’t crazy, or troubled, they were just old. At the nurses station we finally found a staff member and asked if she could direct us to the woman we had a delivery for. She said that she would be in her room. When we told her the room was empty she told us to hold on. She got on the phone and said, "Yeah Hi. There's some people here with some flowers for *patients name* is she still here or did she die? No the room was empty. She should be there? Well I don't know, how should I know." There was some annoyed shuffling of papers at the amount of time this was taking. After about 10 minutes the woman said, "Maybe you should just leave them here. I think she's the one in the wheel chair behind you, I have this picture here but I don't know if that really looks like her, what do you think?" The woman she was referring to couldn't have been more than 6 feet from us, I turned around perplexed and asked pretty stupidly I guess, " Well, can I ask her her name?" She said, "No point, I doubt she'd know it. I'll take care of it. Have a nice day.” I was about to lose my cool when my friend grabbed me and pulled me out of the facility in near tears. Words don’t do any justice to truly how horrible this scene was. On the computer screen it doesn’t seem half as bad as this establishment truly was. It was a lonely, scary, hell on earth and I hope to never let any of my relatives wind up in that sort of establishment.

Care is good enough here that we are confident enough to not have to check my mother every day. she has Alzheimers, and doesn't miss us if we can't always be there to keep an eye on things.

Heritage Hall - Leesburg is a great facility in a nice part of town. I have known several people who were residents there and they all have nothing but positive remarks concerning the facility. Some families have unrealistic expectations of what kind of care can be provided in a nursing facility. I imagine this is why there are poor reviews on here (and all written suspiciously close together). Your loved ones won't receive 1 on 1 care, but they will receive the best care possible in such a place. Whether it's short-term or long-term care, Heritage Hall is the best in the area.

The facility is run by a shaky staff. The "Social Director" is a nut! I have to say all the Filipinos that work there are very caring. However with no reflection on the nurses and caretakers, if you really love someone--Don't put them in this place--I never saw ONE decent meal!

This place should be called Heritage Hell Hole. It smell of urine, the food is horrible. The nursing staff is good but the Doctors need to be investigated. My mother almost died twice while there during a 3 month stay. She left in worse shape that when she arrived. This place should be closed doen

My mother was a patient at Heritage Hall for 4 months. She left worse than when she was admitted. Her doctor never even listened to her chest with a stethescope (she had pneumonia and 2 PE's). That place isn't good enough for an animal. My mother did have a few excellent nurses, for which I am grateful. The place should be renamed "Heritage Hell"
