Dealing with this hospital and the staff was the WORST experience ever! The level of care is next to nothing and they over-medicate the patients so they can keep them longer. If you have good insurance----look out! They will find a reason to keep you there just to collect the money. I am in the process of filing a fraud case with my insurance company. They also broke the law by not adhering to patients rights. Stay as far away from this place as possible!!!

I had a bad reaction to Ambien CR and my dream world merged into the real world. Needless to say how terrible the Bakersfield PD treated me for a medical condition- guns drawn on me and all, as well as laughing hysterically at how I was acting from the meds side effect. Was put on a 5150 72hr hold, which the Dr. Decided to make 5 days. I have never had any mentall illness, arrests, or even traffic tickets. The Dr. was the biggest quack I ever met. He said that the symptoms looked like schizophrenia. He would not listen when I said the hallucinations started the first night I took the Ambien CR, and went away right after they stopped it. I was 36 at the time, and the other patients in my ward were transients, completly insane, or tried suicide. So obviously none of them would be able to pay for their time there. So, myself, as an insured patient- made the Doctors and staff seeing green $$$. I know they were taking advantage of me due to the insurance I had. I was not surprised to see in a lot of the reviews here, that they pulled the same shit about forcing someone to stay against their will only to collect more $$$. The psych Dr I was assigned was Indian (which I have no problem with), but his accent was so thick, I could only understand about 1 in 10 words when he spoke to me.That week was one of the worse in my life!

Facility was isgusting. Staff was completely inept and did not help nor care for my sick relative at all. kept sick relative there longer then needed to be there ithout any treatment except psycho meds which only served to put them to sleep. this facility needs to be looked at for criminal charges because the way patients and family members are treated there is a crime. if you have any choice at all please try to go somewhere else as you will not get the treatment you need here...all you will have is a large bill and a month of trying to detoxify your body from all the unnecessary meds they charged you and your insurance for. psychiatrists at facility have no clue how to help a mentally ill patient other than give them a range of meds--at no point have i met anyone at facilitythat appears to be credible.

Inpatient- Patients are given extra medication or injections they do not need charged at a hospital rate for increased profits. Patients are kept 1-4 days extra for increased profits. Patients are given inhumane treatment in some cases causing further complications with the mentally ill. Outpatient- Marginal care due to lack of education. Maximum budget cuts while fully charging insurance/ patients/ employers as if it were a more comprehensive program. Risky trusting the facility with poorly trained staff. Psychiatry- In some cases over prescribing of meds. to keep patients coming back but most psychiatrists there are very well trained and educated as well as humane

The time spent here was the worst, staff was rude and abusive, had problems with nursing including the nuse in charge and the doctors about my prescribed medication. Staff had no control over abusive patients and i was very fearfull for my safety and was continuosly ignored when I tried to address these concerns not to forget the nightmare I had during my intake. would not recomend this facility to my worst enemy but apart from the worst the only staff that made me comfortable and listened to my complaints was the maintenance staff who made sure i was comfortable and listend to me and not to mention hoe beautiful the place looked.

I am a 44 year old female. I was an inpatient from Jan 1 - Jan 5, 2010 for a situational depression. I was misdiagnosed and treated for a condition I do not have because my chart was mixed up with another patient's with the same first name. I had to endure a "hearing" where I listened to negative comments about "my" behavior, and when I figured out during the hearing that they must have charted in my chart this other person, I was told that I was since I was disagreeing with just about everything in my chart, that I was "Not taking my illness seriously and that I needed intensive inpatient psychiatric services. When I approached a couple of the nurses and mental health workers, they agreed and said they knew the other patient, and that what was charted was about that person. Amazingly, soon after I demanded another doctor, and cornered the head of the unit with my complaint, I was scheduled for release the next day. I assure you, consequences will follow. I would not send my least favorite person to this place. They do not offer the services insurance companies pay for.

This place was a horrible place. I am 17 years old. I was on a anti depressant prescribed for depression because I was sexually abused by my step father and they made me suicidal. I went to this hospital and it was one of the worst times in my life. Being there made me more and more depressed. They ended up keeping me there longer than neccisary because I had insurance and they wanted to make some extra money off of me. I do not reccomend that anyone go here. The staff is horrible and the service and help was zero to none. There were a few good nurses, whom without there help I don't think I would have gotten through the expirience. Tammy, Vanessa, Nancy and a few of the others. I strongly DO NOT recommend this facility for teens and children. It changed me in a lot of ways and not in any good ones.

(Details have not been substantiated)prescription drug detox
- Details:
My husband has been on large amounts of pain killers for the past 10 years, following a terrible car accident. The drugs no longer take care of his pain and because he can never get enough he is now in constant withdrawal. He desperately wants off of the meds. Feels like his original pain is probably manageable now. The withdrawals are so severe that he often contemplates ending it all. I'm a desperate wife. I've heard that some doctors will admit you to a hospital and medically detox you. This sounds like the safest way to me. Please let me know if Good Samaritan can help my husband. He is disabled and on Medicare only. Does good Samaritan work with Medicare. Please won't someone help!

Medical detox needed desperately
- Details:
I am 58 yrs old. I was clean for 16 years except for back problems, vicodin prescribed all these years.... as result of auto accident, work accident, total loss of hearing while at work... I went into total failure of liver and kidney then pancreantitus (spelling) coma, woke up after being given 1 percent chance of life. While on disability my boss fired me and I started drinking smart thing to do right. I have looked all over. Blood pressure 190 over 100. Children and grandchildren still need me. I cannot do a detox without it being medically assisted. I will always have to have pain killers for back as it is no longer operable, arthiritis set in and limits movement now. But I have to kick the alcohol. I called in May and June. I was told only labs were needed to get me in, but my doctor instead sent in a referral. I understand you cannot send me the requirements, they got directly to doctor then if labs meet your approval I can get a ten day medical detox. I have blue cross. I need to do this NOW. please please help. Dr. Gulessarian (559) 439-5757 fax (559) 437-3943. I am deaf. Daughter Leslie Ramos (559) 213-6643 She has called twice for me in these last months.
