The watershed is not what they make it seem when you talk to them. They will tell you anything to get you in them if you try to leave they will baker act you and send you to the psych ward. The detox is good that's about it. They are in a law suit with blue cross so if you have that insurance they will tell you it covers treatment but will harass you for money and push you through the program very fast and kick you out if you don't have large amounts of money. You do not see a psych everyday like they tell you, once or maybe twice a week. There is basically no contact with family members. Php is in the ghetto and have drug houses around the corner. Almost all the staff treated me horrible except for a few. They told me inpatient was 30 days and they moved me to php after about ten inpatient days. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have read the reviews and I hate to say this but I work at the watershed, just quit. They will tell you anything to get you to come to treatment. Then you cannot leave unless you go to PHP. At inpatient they place you on FMLA or STD and then can threaten your job if you do not complete the whole program. The director at Quantum Anna is a mean nasty women who speaks to the patients horrible. She uses vulgarity with them. Very unprofessional. At the PHP level of care we have to get a list to her of all people with legal or employment so we can threaten them if they try to leave. The apartments are disgusting and its in a horrible neighborhood. If you want to get sober and not sit in a room so they can bill you insurance and then throw you out go somewhere else.

Been sober over 2 years thanks to the watershed since June 10, 2011. Went through the boca facility, PHP, and the halfway house. Had an amazing therapist at PHP named Dr. Ockman that changed my life. I had been to 4 other centers before here and would relapse every time but have an amazing life today and owe a lot of it to this place.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Utah,.and I was treated like an idiot (even though I AM a board certified anesthesiologist!). This center over-medicates their patients so they are benzo'd out, making them seem cured...instead of just being on a benzodiazepine high. STAY AWAY if you REALLY want help...go to a system-related center or hospital (Mercy Health, MAYO clinic, etc).

My experience at the Watershed was nothing short of a miracle. I first arrived at their boca facility from the north east, scared and broken. I had tried going to 12 step meetings but kept relapsing. I was prescribed xanax by my doctors so thought I could take those, just not drink. I couldnt stop either. If I stopped drinking, I would go into withdrawal. If I stopped my xanax I would have a panic attack. I was always so scared. I knew I was an alcoholic but NEVER would I admit I was an addict too. That kind of thinking kept me from getting help for years. Treatment didnt fix me. It didnt cure me of alcoholism or addiction. It just gave me some extra time and tools so that I could actually give meetings, therapy, and recovery a real chance. I thought I was so different for so long. I am grateful that the Watershed put up with my attitude and stopped me from leaving on multiple occasions. Who knows what would have happened if I actually just left. I am an alcoholic/addict...of course I would want to leave...duh! lol. Thank you Watershed family for saving my butt. I love you all. May come to scoff but may you remain to stay - recovery is worth it...put down your fists and just DO IT!

My experience with the Watershed was markedly different than most of what I am reading here. That's unfortunate! I went into the Watershed with 18 months clean and sober from a 40+ pill per day Rx addiction. I had been hospitalized in Boca Raton Florida for 6 weeks prior for gall bladder pancreatitis and was receiving round the clock IV narcotics and my doctor felt it was good idea for me to check into a detox in order to preserve my 18 months of sobriety. I did just that, was detoxed and stayed for 28 or so days. The ONE and ONLY one experience that I found very troubling was that when I read the report I had to sign for forwarding to the insurance company, for their pre-approval. My counselor had included a very false and inflated drug history. She had included drugs I had NEVER used, abused or was addicted to as a reason for my need for treatment. I told her of this, after I detailed to her what I objected to, she seemed very surprised, and fixed it. In comparison to some of the other "hell-hole" detoxes and rehabs I had been to in the 1990s, the Watershed did just what I needed it to, I was discharged, and to this day, I am clean and sober for over 13 years.

I have to say I unfortunately agree with all of the negative feedback above. I am a former drug and alcohol counselor (Master's Degree level) and current officer in the military. While away on assignment my fiance relapsed after over a year sobriety. He chose to attend the Watershed. I was initially impressed with the Detox/Inpt treatment at the Boca Raton facility. It was professional, he saw a psychiatrist daily, he was impressed with his therapist, and she went above and beyond to accommodate my concerns and our family situation. I must also mention that he was self-pay for the entire thirty days. The plan was for him to return home to do partial treatment here as I would be home from rotation. For some reason it was suggested that he transfer to the PHP apartment complex to complete his last week of treatment that was already paid for. We were told we would receive a refund due to the decrease in cost from inpt to PHP per day and he would still discharge after 30 days. The therapists and patient advocates at the PHP were unprofessional, unethical, and continuously lied to my fiance, his mother, and myself. He was promised a discharge date and they refused to book the plane ticket. As the days drew closer to his discharge multiple different employees called myself and his mother making statements that they had never seen success with just thirty days of treatment, etc. Any ethical professional in drug and alcohol tx knows that absolute guarantees of success and failure are not made. They lied to us about what he said, and lied to him about what we said continuing to refuse a speaker phone group family sessions to sort everything out. My fiance and our family had to threaten with the BBB, police, State Department and our attorney to get them to agree to discharge him to outpatient treatment in our home state just for the papers to be signed. Even after discharge papers were signed this morning the calls continued to family manipulating them for more money. We are STILL waiting for plane ticket and considering flying down with his passport to get him bc they will not release all the forms of ID they are illegally holding from him. It is already past his promised discharge date. They have caused more harm and stress to him as well as our family. Do not send your family here. You will be lied to and manipulated from the minute the phone call is answered. It is unfortunate that the quality of care in the inpt program is undone at the PHP and other programs. Fortunately my fiance is using excellent skills and not getting upset and angry while we continue to wait for flight information and continue to be ignored and put off by staff now that they know there will be no more money. It is unethical and deplorable that a facility claiming to help addicts/alcoholics and their family manipulates their weaknesses for the sake of money. This review is absolutely real and I am currently continuing to wait for information that my fiance is flying home tomorrow and there is nothing I can do aside from call the Dade County police. Please send your loved ones elsewhere.

This place needs to be investigated by The States Attorney etc, They tell you anything you need to hear in order to get you there THEN YOU CAN"T LEAVE ! I have a kid in the place NOW and will be in contact with local police to extract him. I spent 2 days talking to various voice mails with NO return calls ? Indeed they did detox him but he states it was barbaric with minimal drug taper/ replacement as promised. He was told to pray { when not being taunted and provoked by " Techs" ? They DO provide good food and they do keep the patient busy with various classes etc. But the time has come to leave, {we have alocal IOP set up} I need to involve police to get his ID./ wallet and credit card that they are holding.. Completely illegal per local police who have also advised contacting the Fla States Attorney. A person who is rational and of sound mind can not be held against their will Watershed...You picked the wrong fight here.

they will tell you anything they think you want to hear to get you there, once you are there though, the whole game changes, all your possessions are taken (phone,id,wallet, cash) and locked away so you cant leave.you are not allowed to call or talk to anyone on the outside until they have spent a few days trying to convince anyone you may call that you are the worst person on earth and need to be there as long as they like. they will do anything to manipulate your family or anyone they can to make you stay for as long as they can milk your insurance for. the counselors are very unprofessional and combative, not at all helpful, they will call your family and lie saying you aren't cooperating when you are,if you try to leave they will threaten to call your job, if you have kids they will call cps in your hometown,, do yourself a favor and do not ruin your chances at a clean life by going here.

This place tells you what you want to hear until you get there. I am not saying that they don't try and treat you and have some success, but their communication with the family is horrible. God forbid if you have insurance that continues to pay, because they will continue to keep you even if you don't need it!!! My husband is there and they are treating him like a prisoner and holding him there because of this exact reason. If you are planning be sure to request that you do not get stuck with a councelor/therapist named Jill. She may have a college education, but she is very unproffesional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This organization has one purpose. Profit at any expense. After our experience this was a nightmare. I would not send my dog to this facility.
