I was a client of this facility in 2001-2002. i stayed for one year and listened to all the suggestions and directions of the staff. i hve been sober now since 9/21.2001. this program works but you have to work on yourself if you are going to change. People can only guide you, you must take the necessary steps to want to change. I would highly recommend this to anyone who truly wants their lives back.

This place is getting worse than ever. Now, we have no coffee or sugar. The Deparment of Corrections prisoners, that coexist with us, are stealing food from the Disney shipment we just received. Besides, the DOC prisoners aren't supposed to be getting any of the Second Harvest and Disney food but they are. This is a very sad place.

The Transition House is not in the business of helping homeless veterans. Tom Griffin and Ray Cummings are just using the homeless vets to obtain money from the Veterans Administration. The VA will no longer refer homeless veterans to the Transition House and do not recommend it.

This place takes advantage of homeless veterans. Ray Cummings and Tom Griffin are not trying to help homeless veterans but are trying to fleece the VA system for every penny they can get. The food is poor and the kitchen is run by the Department of Corrections. That's right, the Transition House also is part the Florida Prison system and they have a minimum security prison section. The prisoners get treated better than the veterans at Transition House.

Transition House is basically about ripping off veterans with drug and/or alcohol problems. Tom Griffen, chairman of Transistion House, volunteers the veterans to work for free during the weekends so his standing in the community stay secure. The counselors are not prepared for thier groups and sometimes don't even show up. Transition House is a digrace. Also, they will take money from your bank account if you give them your banking information.
