It's been three years since I left this facility and Due to the business of life, am just finding time to write a review! This place changed my life and was wonderful for me. The only thing was the long hours of book work which is hard for meth addicts to do however I have stayed clean and they gave me the tools, support and attention I needed. The greatest thing of all is that they took me for free!!! No one does that anymore but it was only thirty days and that thirty days changed my life and has kept me clean all this time! I highly recommend this facility to anyone!

I first went to St Illa in 2008 for their 6 months program. I didn’t thoroughly follow up with my aftercare program and after 3 years of being clean I relapsed. My family could not afford to send me to a treatment facility and I returned to St. Illa in September of 2011. The staff is very friendly and the food was excellent. They provide a morning meditation and several other informational groups I am not sure what some of the below were expecting out of a treatment facility. St Illa is state funded, it is not a treatment resort where some families spend $30,000- $50,000 expecting a “cure” for their family member. Getting sober is about learning the tools that will help you to stay sober. I was taught those tools at St. Illa. St Illa taught me accountability and responsibility, the rest was up to me. Sobriety is changing your thoughts in order to change your behavior and St. Illa planted those seeds. They provided the basics needed to start a change in my life, I had to follow up with aftercare. I am grateful that St Illa was there for me.

Avoid St. Illa if at all possible. As a twenty-two year old college student suffering from lifelong depression, being treated as an inmate at this facility proved more devastating to my mental health than anything else. "Consumers", not patients, are treated like criminals. You are not aloud to have reading materials, unless it's a bible, and you can have visitors once a week for twenty minutes. The staff, overall, were very discouraging and are NOT there because they genuinely care for your, or your child's, well-being. I encountered a few, as in three, different employees who seemed genuinely concerned about how I was doing and I do not know what I would have done without their help. Instead of reevaluating my medicine, I was just given sleeping pills (Trazadone) and then reprimanded (and even denied my one 5-minute phone call of the day) for sleeping too late in the morning. You will leave this place feeling worse than you did before you arrived. While the fees are very low, seeing as you are expected to sit around and color in coloring books or do word searches all day, I would never waste my time again. Instead of feeling as if there is hope in recovering from my depression, the only thing I have learned from this experience is to keep my mouth shut and not reach out for help next time I am in an extreme state of depression because I do not want to feel like a criminal.
