Dirty facility. Only cares about collecting money. "Counselors" are simply ex-addicts (that's ok) but have NO training in what they should be doing.

All they CARE ABOUT IS MONEY MONEY MONEY, not that thier clients are doing good, there really is no treatment besides a monthly 1 to 1 consoler meeting, no peer group or any group theraphy is required they ONLY CARE about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I was at serenity health since May 15 2013. I had 15 months clean and had 2 take homes due to counselors quitting and no organization at all. I want to join another clinic about the same distance from my PA house and want to continue to stay clean which I am. But I have alot of amends towards serenity now. How do I join and when should I come for intake which day of week?? Thank you

What is the criteria for intake?

What is the criteria for intake?
Details:

Me and My twin brother both need methadone assistance. However, we both are in different places with respect to our medical history: He is currently on subutex, which he has been on for a few years now and it has made him very ill morning after morning. However, he can't get off of it because if he does he craves it. So basically, he is stuck craving something that has harmful effects on his body; it takes him 2 to 3 hours to get out of bed in the morning. He has developed joint problems in his hands, and has severe trigger finger at the site of both middle fingers that have been steadily getting worse now traveling up two the next two joints located in those fingers. Very painful for him; more so b/c he has developed edema as well; all in the mornings. However, the trigger finger does last all day long. Now, my situation is that I have been treating my pain issues with heroin. I have back pain in which three disks bulge and each minimally touch the nerve root giving me a diagnosis of stenosis. I have no bone or deteriation but I do have some compression. Furthermore, my latest MRI has indicated that I have now developed as a result of my back, scoliosis. Since then, I have more pain in my back then usual. However, it is of my opinion that doctors are not treating the patient today as they did years ago. Instead of treating the patient by increasing ones doses of narcotics as they become tolerant, they are primarily more concerned about protecting themselves from a DEA investigation, therefore to get the treatment that narcotics call for it becomes a contest of who can bully who the best to get their way, the proper way, which honestly is to raise the dose until the patient plateaus, otherwise the patient is out of meds and has to seek other means. Everybody that I know that is in pain management has to supplement this way! Again, its because the patient is not being treated by the book. Instead the patient is being treated for the money with the doctor primarily worried about protecting himself first. I even had one doctor tell me after giving me my first perscription to never ask for a change in meds or an increase or I was "outa there!" So, naturally I don't go to those places anymore and instead buy heroin on the street to relieve all my physical as well as miraculously cure all my mental ills as well. However, I can no longer afford it. But, my concern is that I was told that one had to pis dirty with heroin in order to get treated with methadone and that you have to be withdrawaling when you come in. Well, I am the type that once I start withdrawing, I cannot get out of bed until its over by that time its out of my system. Or I take one of my brothers Bup's and it helps me from the harshness of withdrawing. Please tell me what state I need to be in in order to be able to be properly intaked into the program here at Joppa Health?
