I first came to Recovery Plus for Mental Health reasons. Had I not, I would of never realized the need for Treatment, after countless efforts working on mental health issues, I then realized a much larger problem. Alcohol. It had been with me for 30+ years, no wonder all the problems. I knew if I didn't stop drinking I would lose all if any hope of finding an answer to this life thing. I did a chemical eval and was packed for in patient within 2 weeks, and scared to death. Alcohol was all I had ever had, my strength, my courage, it was ME. Oh my god, a house full of women, with kids what was I thinking? I need a drink or (20). What did my daughters friend say last summer before "steel venom".... Think Peace. Not bad for a 9 year old. 2 weeks in, I'm thinkin Peace and wanting to rip off heads, Drama, I don't do Drama, I Drink! Hey, I haven't drank in 3 weeks. Cool. Think Peace. Homework, I don't do homework. I drink! Look at your life, I hate my life, I hate me, That's why I drink! Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, Baby Steps, I'm not a Baby, I'm a Drunk with a Personality Disorder, who needs medicine, I don't need medicine, I drink! That's my medicine. Hey you big Drunk Baby, How has that worked out for you? You are 43 and more messed up than ever, You drink you get hammered, you puke all over and your head and your heart are so beyond messed up, just look...... Ok, Ok, I get it. I'll try something different, I have to fill in all these gaps these empty gaping holes inside me. I admitted I have a problem, that my life has become unmanageable. From that moment forward, my big rusty shield was lowered and I allowed the greatness of sobriety into my world. Thank you - Recovery Plus without you I would have never been able to see what I see now, I will always be grateful. gsober2/10

I will become an Alumni of Recovery Plus tomorrow morning. I have been at this facility and Our House since August. Though my length of stay has been longer than the average, I am grateful for every day that I have been there. I cannot say enough about the Staff Team assigned to me, they have been nothing short of EXCELLENT during my treatment. I came in 16 days sober, but feeling very hopeless and confused as to whether I wanted to continue living. They provided me with the tools I needed to begin believing that my life is worth living and that I could actually laugh again. As with any treatment program, you get out of it exactly what you put into it. The best decision I made was to SURRENDER to my addiction and let the staff tell me what I needed to do to learn to love myself and live as if I do. I consider Recovery Plus to be my home and I will continue to contribute in any way that I am able to their continued to success! If you are considering treatment, please consider Recovery Plus! ODAAT, A Blessed, Grateful and Sober Alumni

I went through in patient treatment 3 years ago at Recovery Plus for opiate addiction. I went in there a strung out junkie, hopeless and depressed. I never thought anyone or anything could help an addict as bad as me, but I was wrong. The medical staff there(Dr. Swenson & his team) helped me right away. I started on a medication for the unbearable withdrawals and learned a lot about my addiction. They have great therapists and psychologists on staff at your disposal. The womens' housing was average to good accomodations. I had to share a room, but we had our own bathroom, TV, and fridge. There was free laundry facility and a common kitchen that we could use. The RA's were very friendly and understanding. The only thing I didn't like there was that my counselor wasn't an addict in recovery herself. I don't care how much school you went through or if your dad was an alcoholic, if you haven't experienced addiction yourself I don't think you can teach addicts. I felt like "How in the hell can you possibly know what it feels like to be an IV oxy junkie?" So, I didn't care for my counselor, plus, she had only been there for a year or two. I didn't take her or group sessions seriously. Also, another thing I had issues with was my detoxing. I should have been in detox for about a week first, instead they threw me into in patient treatment right away. I was so sick, vomiting, shakes diarreah, and I couldn't stay awake. It was hard to concentrate and learn the first week due to my withdrawals, so that I would have changed also. This was three years ago though, and now they have a medical detox wing there. I would recommend this program to anyone who is addicted to opiates, I relapsed once I got out, but went back and got help again. The medical team there is phenominal. They are understanding, caring, intelligent, and helpful. I'm proud to say I've been clean since Nov. 23 2006; I couldn't have done it without the guidance and encouragement from everyone at Recovery Plus; thank you.

IT SEEMED GOOD UNTIL HE WAS RELEASED, TWO WEEKS INTO FOCUS TWELVE HE RELAPSED ALONG WITH AT LEAST FOUR OTHER FELLOW PATIENTS TO WICH HE HAD NO PREVIOUS FRIENDSHIP WITH.I FEEL THAT YOU COUNSELORS LET HIM OUT WITH THE SAME OLD KNOWLEDGE THAT ALL TREATMENT CENTERS DO, THE INS IS UP AND OUR HANDS ARE TIED. THAT IS NOT RIGHT, AND I WISH THAT ALL COUNSELORS AND FAMILY MEMBERS WOULD GO TO THE GOVERNMENT TO GET THE LONG TERM IN PATIENT TIME NEEDED.I AM A MOTHER THAT WANTS TO SEE A BETTER SYSTEM TO PUT AWAY AND HELP THE CHEMICALLY DEPENDENT UNTIL THEY ARE BETTER EQUIPT TO FACE THE WORLD. I DO NOT WANT TO WAIT TO WATCH THEM REOFFEND OR HARM ANYMORE. Recoveries Plus has lost the main goal in why they have the facility. This has now become a county probation and they have become babysitters for the "Its better than jail" crowd. The ones that have paid out of pocket for help are rushed out of treatment in 20 days, alcohol and drugs have been found on site at the treatment facility as well Passages Residence. Not to mention many patient privacy violations, leaving intake forms on tables while visiting is going on, diagnosis codes behind patient names for sign in sheets for classes at treatment center. This facility has lost credibility. Some of the counselors still know why they are there others are just there for the paycheck, I would no longer recommend anyone seeking treatment for addiction and dual diagnosis that has a private payer to attend this treatment program if you are county ordered then by all means take the vacation
