These reviews are accurate--Valley Hope of O'Neill is a terrible treatment center. The goal here is to make money, not to help addicts/alcoholics recover. Most (not all) of the staff shouldn't be in the business of recovery. Half of the counselors there struggle with their memory, as they themselves are recovering users--not exactly the type of guidance needed during this delicate time. Most people do need a solid treatment program to truly recover and stay sober, but this is simply a waste of money. Their approach is this: break their patients down, but fail to provide the tools needed to pick themselves back up again. If you have any question as to whether or not the main purpose of Valley Hope is to make money, rather than help people, look at this: after you've dropped thousands of dollars on the program, you're given a shitty little $10 blanket to borrow during your stay. If you fail to return it at the end of your program, they tack on $100 to your bill. Why? PROFIT! Valley Hope is bad news

To put it as simple as possible, Valley Hope stinks. The staff is worthless (from kitchen to the director himself), the facilities are a joke, and overall a total waste of $$$. There are MUCH better programs out there.

Extremely unprofessional approach to the unique care that is needed for individuals with addictions. Highly suggest researching other models of care that have a more comprehensive, research driven and resident-focused approach. Nursing staff was wonderful and very compassionate. These individuals should be given ownership to the overall care of the residents as some counselors lack even BASIC communication skills and were not only unprofessional but highly ignorant to the needs of the residents. The residents deserve more than they were afforded. The detoxification process is challenging enough and individuals should not have to add another layer of stress such as dealing with staff that are inconsiderate, unprofessional, and truly lack the academic credentials needed to help this struggling population.
