My boyfriend is there and he hates it. They are robbing the department if social services, applying for funds for services that the residents are not even doing. My boyfriend told me that they drag everything so that they can more money. They allow them to smoke and so many peoe sneak drugs in. They don't check you, they just let you go through the metal detector. I have given my honey cigarettes every time I've seen him and he never gets caught. He has called me on numerous peoe's cellphone..who he claim any ked their phone in. On the weekends they have no Groups just seminars and then they lay around all day. How therapeutic is that? They don't allow them to have snacks from the outside. My boyfriend's counselor just got off of parole in November 2011 for 3 murder conviction, stemming from 1977. That's the type of people they have trying to put someone on a straight and narrow. Melissa the fat Down syndrome secretary is very rude and she treats the clients like shit. The counselor's don't communicate with family and I don't think that's right if we suppose to be a team to get them rehabilitated. They only have one security guard and they just sit at the front desk and go on Facebook from their phones. I would not recommend anyone to this disease infested place. My hubby's counselor told him the peomd who have HIV and hepatitis B, and they don't take precautions to separate them. I hope this place closes down. After all it's a 129 bed facility but they can't take more than 75 because OSHA wants to shut this down. My boyfriend hates it and he tells me everything that go on in there..if I wrote down everything, those people of renaissance would be arrested starting from the head bitch on down

I wasted 8months of my life at the Renaissance Project in Ellenville,NY after being mandated to long term treatment by my legals. There was absolutely NO treatment given here whatsoever. They were only concerned about money. I was a resident at the time of the MURDER and they did absolutely nothing to prevent it from happening. The client was suffering mentally and a bunch of us warned the staff that something wasnt right and they just blew us off, saying that we didnt know what we were talking about because we weren't staff, we were just addicts.. 2days later, the client stabbed our overnight security guard to death and kidnapped our overnight nurse and almost stabbed her to death. It was totally, completely 100% avoidable! I had only two 1hr groups twice a week and they offered an optional NA meeting once a day mon-fri, that was IT as far as treatment. I only saw/talked to my counselor once every 2 weeks, if that, and she was the worst counselor I've ever had! I requested a counselor change several times and they refused to help me.. my counselor and I constantly butted heads, she insulted my family and lied to my legals. My day consisted of waking up, wandering around till lunch, then wandering around till about 2pm, at 2pm I went to my room and slept till dinner and then played Xbox or watched TV till bedtime.. but then we constantly got in trouble for wandering around.. even though there was absolutely nothing else for us to do! And it honestly would have been easier for me to get drugs/alcohol in the facility if I wanted them, then it would be for me to get them when I was home. Several staff members were in SEXUAL relations with the clients and there was a couple of staff members who actually snuck in drugs, cigarettes and cellphones to clients and even switched out dirty drug tests for certain clients, as long as you paid them! I watched multiple people get kicked out for the dumbest things but then others they let get away with ANYTHING, as long as those people ratted out other clients. You could get high/drunk or get caught fucking 100times and as long as you told them what everyone else was doing, they let you stay. Needless to say, because I refused to tell them other peoples business and because I stood up for myself and called them out on what they were doing wrong, they kicked me out after 8months.. I had 1month left till a successful completion. In my final report to my legals, my counselor then recommended that I be placed in another long term treatment facility. My legals went with that recommendation, I was placed in ANOTHER 9month program where I was forced to start my time over. I successfully completed that 9month program EARLY in 3 months at the recommendation of my counselor at my new treatment center. Next month I will celebrate 2years CLEAN AND SOBER and I can honestly say that it was NOT thanx to Renaissance! I would never recommend this "treatment facility" to anyone. It was a complete JOKE and a total FRONT! Like I said before, THEY ARE ONLY CONCERNED WITH MONEY!!

Had legal issues I got sick and needed to be hospitalized they threatened to kick me out of the program if I went to the ER. I was hospitalized for 4 days and could have died if I didn't go. They tried to kick me out of the program while I was in the hospital and have me sent to jail. I called OASAS to make a complaint they lied to OASAS and then started picking on me and made up lies so they could say that they were letting me go for a different made up reason. The people that run it don't really care about the people that are there they care more about money. Not a place to be if you have legal issues because they hold it over your head and treat you how ever they want and if you make any complaints they will retaliate because they know they can because it's your word against theirs and you will wind up in jail. It is definitely not a dual diagnosis therapeutic program! That is a lie because I have PTSD and Bipolar I and I didn't get any therapy, when I started getting depressed because they kept threatening that they wee going to kick me out of the program cause I was sick and send me to jail, I couldn't talk to anyone. Nobody cared that I was depressed and starting to feel suicidal. I even had staff make fun of me. They wouldn't even return phone calls to me or my family when they were trying to help me get things straightened out when I was in the hospital
