I sent my 20 year old son here Sep 2014. I started to become disappointed with the staff when I left several messages for the staff to call me and they never would return calls. I was warned about this center having issues with people bringing in drugs with ease. Well guess what, 3 days before my son was ready to come home he was provided Heroin by several other patients that had smuggled in/obtained the drugs with ease as he stated and he was drug tested and forced to leave the program. No problem with that. The problem I have is all the reviews out on the web that talk about this facility as being the best and easiest place for drug addicts to meet top dealers and get all the drugs they want. Something has to be done about this place. I for one am going to make it my mission to let Tricare Insurance know not to allow their insurance members attend this facility. It is a waste of taxpayer dollars with such a lack of security on drugs entering the facility. People should be fired over this.

I sent my son to Wilmington Treatment Center and was very impressed. Nice clean and well kept facility. Very good communication from admissions until discharge. My insurance paid most (and they did a great job getting this approved) and I paid some. We couldn't be happier with result. Well worth the money.

This Facility is all about MONEY !! I paid out of pocket cash $10,000 and my insurance was to cover the remaining amount that was negotiated before admittance for the other $2000. The facility did not file quick enough and was not able to get the full $2000 from the insurance. I'm sorry that is not my fault, we agreed on $12,000 and everything was approved on the day of my admittance. I have been sent to a collection agency for $651 dollar balance and this was 4 years ago. I was harassed by the collections agency and I steal have that on my credit reports too. They care more about the money aspect then the well being of there patients. There are plenty of free facility that are willing to help at no upfront cost and will waive fees if your not able to pay them. I wish I would have know that before hand. Please do your research before going to Wilmington Treatment Center. It's just a detox and then a basic 12 step program, you can get at no cost at many facility in the areas of NC and SC. So before you go to this facility, check all your options. Personally, I got my freedom from drugs and alcohol not from there but from so someone greater and I learned that from getting help at a no cost facility that was a lot longer than 28 days, especially when they treat you like a number and all they want is money the day you go in and the day you leave putting pressure on you that will make you go back to using drugs and alcohol through collection agencies and non stop phone calls.. I do not recommend Wilmington Treatment Center for anyone. There is way to many options out there that are free and at a lot less cost.

This treatment center was not up to par. They didn't even let you see a doctor on the first day or let you get a correct assessment. They just took your money and put you where ever they wanted too. The advertise of this place is very wrong in putting things on their web site that is not true. Very disappointed in this place of business. If I was any having to go their I would not put myself or anyone in that place.

Wilmington treatment center is alot of propaganda, especially on all of the "Military" aspects. Quite a disappointment. There are better treatment centers for less money.

First, I am a former patient and later an employee. Second, I left employment here under my own will, so there is no attempt to seek revenge on the center. I am merely a concerned person in recovery who wants to give those seeking help an honest appraisal of this particular treatment center. So, to begin, Wilmington Treatment Center has been under a new regime for a few years now. The current CEO, no offense to him, is a figurehead for the parent company, CRC Health Group. CRC owns many, many facilities across the country, from obesity camps to boarding schools for troubled teens. Whether or not they have any concern for those in addiction, they call the shots at Wilmington Treatment Center, and the main focus is numbers. As an example, WTC management holds staff-wide meetings at least once a month, where the CEO praises admissions for increasing the number of patients they've convinced to enter WTC, and the clinical staff for making sure there are little to no ama's (a term used for patients leaving early). There are rules patients must follow, like no drug or alcohol use, but when these rules are broken, there is no consequence, which is very frustrating for both staff and patients. As long as a patient doesn't threaten one of the doctors, he/she will be able to stay through the rest of his/her treatment, so long as this patient's insurance provider continues to pay, of course. If the patient has poor insurance, and the length of stay is questionable because of this, this patient is considered more expendable. This particular type of patient will be kicked out for much less. I saw it over and over again; the central goal is to increase numbers, and therefore profits for the parent company, even to the point of cramming patients into rooms, and even putting them on cots (which are conveniently hidden when certain government agencies visit for inspections). This is all in the name of money. Don't get me wrong, money is necessary to run the facility. However, the level of care and recovery at WTC is consistently pushed aside in the name of profit, and I've seen too many addicts and alcoholics suffer because of this. My advice is to go to AA or NA. It's free. And if you need more medical attention for detoxification, go to a facility that only focuses on detox. Then go to AA or NA. Recovery is really up to the individual anyway. You get out of it what you put into it.
