this facility is in the bottom 10% in quality. The patients and let me say again patients are suffering from illnesses that are out of their ability to treat without the hospital's services. Therefor any blame is the staff and supervisors and executives. Being a for profit facility the goal is to have the most beds full and have the staff that are so unqualified they can offer them low pay. this facility 20 years ago was fine. now it is a dump. When they discharged my bi-polar son who lives 25 miles away they gave him bus fare and no one to contact for aftercare. These reviews are accurate. Plus never ever send a child here. Please if it is a child and i know its hard get intensive outpatient. never put a minor under their legal control. There is no independent oversight and any trauma the child suffers from this place will be with him for a long time and they will lose trust in you for not looking out for their emotional safety.

I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. I was admitted after a suicide attempt and had delusions immediately after the attempt. The workers were very unprofessional and spoke to me as if I had mental retardation. I was not treated like an adult and I am twenty two years old. The support groups did not help and were poorly constructed. There were a select few of the employees that actually cared for the patients with respect and compassion. The staff made fun of the patients here. My Mom agreed with me. If you are looking to enter a psychiatric hospital I highly recommend Friends Hospital. They treat their patients with compassion and respect. I give Friends 5 stars.

I just had my 12 year old son admitted to this hospital due to suicidal thoughts. I would NEVER recommend this place to any parent of a pre-teen or younger. My son started in the Adolescent 1 Unit which is for ages 10-13. They facility moved him into the Adolescent 3 unit for his second night, and felt it appropriate to room him with a man who will turn 18 next month. My son just turned 12 3 months ago. Who in their right minds place a 12 year old with a near 18 year old. The older teen tried to choke my son. In addition to this poor decision, which I will be filing complaints about......their admission process for children is horrible. First off you sit for hours (our process took 4 hours) in a room with all admission patients. There is no separate admissions waiting room for kids. He was the only child in the room for the first few hours, with 5 or 6 adult patients, some with more severe needs than others. This was a very frightening way to start a stay where you are trying to keep your child safe. If your stay is for a child ---- please find another option. Stay away!!!!!!

Care there was pretty decent, it was the after care that was TERRIBLE. The social worker assigned to our case was AWFUL with doing her job, and scheduling an appointment with an outside therapist. I had to really get on her butt to follow thru, and that was AFTER numerous calls to try to get her to even call me back! In the end, I had to do it all myself.

I was a patient at the clinic from Dec. 1994 until Jan. 1995. I receive excellent for my alcoholism and depression. And I believe that through the efforts of the staff to help me recognize my depression and use of alcohol and how they were connected, along with the program they gave to me to use on the outside, have kept me sober today. Thank You Horsham Clinic.

My son was inpatient at Horsham for 4 nights in Jan. of 2011, he was 5 years old at the time. This is probably the worst place I could have taken him. The unit was absolutely disgusting. It was so dirty and in need of much renovating. The lights did not work in the one bathroom and it smelled as if it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! Not to mention they drew blood from my son without my knowledge twice and ended up sending him home with no help! The doctor said she could not do anything for him because he cried too much! I don't blame him, the place was filthy!

First of all, the information provided on this site is mostly inaccurate. The Horsham Clinic is not a drug and alcohol rehab center- it is an ACUTE PSYCHIATRIC hospital. There is treatment available for patients with dual diagnosis issues, but in order to be admitted- you have to meet the psychiatric criteria. There IS a partial day program available- 4 actually- 3 child/adolescent programs and 1 adult. It is concerning that people in need of treatment will read this site and not receive accurate information- especially those who are in immediate need of psychiatric care. Too often, substance abuse patients look to this facility as an option but they are not appropriate and end up taking beds from those who are in need of a safe, locked facility. It is unfortunate that those who developed this site obviously did not to ANY research into the programming and treatment offerings.

recieved no orientation. dietician spoke of the need related to healthy eating habits yet the food was disgracefu. high in carbs, no fruit or salid available. the dining area shoddy at best. healthy snacks/any snacks are not available. food is used as a motivator to progress in treatment. food is a basic need and should never be used in the above manner. patients needs were rarely addressed by nursing staff. most of the staff were arrogant and abrupt.pts have too much free time. exercise is not offered for those who are able and medically stable.
