I want everyone who is serious about getting their life back together that this is the place. I have been to six rehabs in the past and have never seen a place where the staff cares this much. Rehabs have to pay their bills so of course they charge money. But the clinical staff are so passionate about saving your life. They put your addiction right in your face so you have no choice but to deal with it.Thank you so much for getting me to see what drugs were doing to me. God bless you all.

My wife was just at Bowling Green. I was in a car accident when she was there and nobody told her until a week later. When she was released, I thought she was coming home, to find out they talked her into not coming here because it wasn't a good place because we are moving and the stress. The counselor, I called several times in a 4 day period never returned my phone calls.

Im Shawn and i'm a 34 year old addict. I went into BGB in october of 2011 a suicidal, depressed, panic attack ridden shell of a human being. I had no hope for a better life and was ready to throw in the towel. BGB gave me back my life which i had taken away from myself!!! The staff there were amazing from the techs(Pete, and Dave especially), the counselors(Jim,Joe,Andy,Liz,DeeDee) the nurses and even my boys in the kitchen. BGB and the staff gave my parents back their son, my son back his father, my sisters have their brother and my fiance got me back! Life cannot get any better now. To the staff and BGB I am forever grateful!

I credit this rehab with saving my life. The staff is caring without being overwhelming. If you want recovery from substance abuse they will insure that you will receive the tools that you will need in order to be successful. There are more modern facilities than Bowling Green, however Bowling Green gets the job done if you want recovery.

As a family member I can't thank Bowling Green enough. My wife was at Bowling Green in April/May 2011 and has now celebrated nine months of sobriety. I took her to Bowling Green the evening of Easter, 2011. It was her fourth Rehab placement and by far the most effective. I agree with my wife when she say's that Bowling Green saved her life. She connected with the Counselors and their real life approach truely hit home. She left determined not to let the Bowling Green Counselors (in particular Pete) down. Thank you Bowling Green!

Bowling Green saved my life. This facility is holy to me. The staff is amazing, I can't stress that enough. They selflessly care, they became trusted friends and teachers to me. The nursing staff is amazing. Considering all of the verbal abuse that they receive from patients, I think they are incredibly kind & nurturing. The tools and knowledge that I was given in my month long stay is more than enough, Bowling Green & their staff is the reason I am still alive and happy right now. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to ANYONE who wants to live a happy life off of drugs. Specifically Pete, Jim, Dave, Eileen and Gabby saved my life over and over. They know what they're doing, they know what they're talking about, and anyone who says otherwise is not serious about their recovery or their lives.

My name is Joshua and I'm an addict and Bowling Green saved my life. I'd been using drugs for seventeen years and I thought that's who I was and who I'd always be. I didn't believe I could live a life free of chemical dependency. I didn't believe in the possibility of hope. The staff at Bowling Green helped me lay a foundation for the rest of my life. They showed me the door but I had to walk through it. I was admitted to Bowling Green at the behest of the courts of Chester County on January 20th 2011. I just celebrated one year of continuous sobriety and i never would have been able to do that with out the help I received at Bowling Green. Sure the beds are not the most comfortable and the chairs aren't either, but I wasn't in rehab to be comfortable I was in rehab to get clean and to be shown how to live. There ARE locks on the doors and if anyone told a tech about a rape attempt you can be damn sure they would take it seriously. I see a lot of negative reviews on here but it is obvious to me they were all written by the same person. Addicts, especially those in active addiction, are unwilling to be responsible for their actions. We like to rationalize and justify our behaviors and actions. We like to blame everyone but ourselves for the damaged we have caused ourselves and others. If you are willing to keep and open mind and are willing to do the work to stay clean and sober then Bowling Green can put you on the right path. Listen to whats being said by the Techs and the counselors they have been where we all have been and they are willing to give back what they were freely given by helping addicts and alcoholics get some perspective. Special thanks to Pete, Taki, Johanna, Jim, Big Mike, Andy, Andrew, and the fantastic nursing staff. I have nothing but gratitude for Bowling Green and AA/NA for doing for me what I could not do for myself. My name is Joshua and I'm an addict and I am alive and sober today because of Bowling Green and the process of recovery outlined in the Twelve Steps.

This is a place where you want to pay attention, learn and work the steps of AA/NA. The staff, particularly Jim, Pete and Stacey were great. They really care about the clients mental and physical being and I really learned that being sober can be a good thing. Also, the meetings in the barn are great. I loved the location, and all of the staff and the accommodations were great! I would recommend this facility to anyone in need of getting and keeping clean and sober. This place saved my life and I hope that it keeps on saving lives. Thanks Pete and Jim!!!

I received treatment at Bowling Green in Feb. 2008. The place was amazing. Do not believe the bad reviews. It must have been someone that still wanted to get high. I saw no drugs or convicts running around. Bowling Green gave me my life back to me. I had been lost on drugs for over 25 years and they taught me how to live free from drugs and alcohol. I am still clean today and am ready to get my 4 year coin on Feb. 11. I can not thank the staff enough. Everyone treated me with respect the entire month I was there. If you are willing to do the work of recovery like I was, then Bowling Green will also work for you. If you are still wanting to stay in your addiction then it will not be too much fun. Again, Thank God for places like BGB

Hi everyone, to who ever is reading this Bowling green does work, My name is Leo Ayala I submitted my self into rehab the day of my birthday October 22nd 2011 I had enough of the drinking and I was ready to change I went there for a total of 34 days that was the best investment I could have paid for. I had changed and had a different output on life than when I wasn't sober. The Staff were amazing and the counselors as well, they may be tough on you sometimes but it's for your own good! Not to scare anyone. Overall Bowling Green is a safe enviornment to get educated and get your self sober, I didn't want to leave the place. The people there were like my 2nd family they helped me through my addiction and become sober Right now I am I think 3 months sober I think or more! Bowling Green does help

Bowling Green Inn is not the place a addict needs to be. Basically the nursing staff sit and watch patients do nothing all day and feed valium for "recovery". They push methadone on patients even without opiates in their system. etc crack withdraw. Street drugs are all over the facility and staff treats patients like dirt. I would not recommend this rehab to ANYONE. If you need help this is NOT the place you want to be.

I went to Bowling Green for 28 days. I must warn folks who think that detox will happen immediately: it doesn't. You must first submit a dirty urine sample, which is shipped to a lab for testing. Only after the results have been faxed from the lab to Bowling Green are you detoxed. Once I was detoxed, however, my stay at Bowling Green wasn't so bad. As another has posted, there are *no* distractions at Bowling Green. We didn't even get to watch the Superbowl. They definitely need more staff, though, as there definitely were drugs inside of the facility. There were also a multitude of fights during my stay, mainly between women. I think the percentage of folks in there that were court stipulated had something to do with this. Drugs come into the facility via three main channels: during outside NA/AA meetings, during visits and during intake of new patients (full strip searches are not implemented). Also, people are constantly nodding out due to Bowling Green's support of methadone maintenance programs. If you can overlook these things, however, and stay focused on your own recovery, Bowling Green can be a very pleasant and serene place. A recovering addict just needs a desire to stay clean and some information on how to live in recovery to succeed, wherever they choose to get treatment.

This place is horrible!!!! They should close down. I had a family member go there in April, 2010 and there were people doing drugs while there, sneaking drugs in, and dealing drugs while in treatment! Totally ridiculous and no supervision. It first started with telling my family member that they would be picking him up on Tuesday morning, then it changed to 1pm, then 3pm, then they said they were an hour away and then they said they messed up and would be there the next morning! Well that turned into the next night! How the hell do you expect an addict to wait to get picked up for rehab for 3 weeks!?! Horrible staff and no communication with the drivers at all. There is no way an addict can go here for treatment when they are surrounded by drugs in the facility! Bowling Green Brandywine should be sued!

We currently have a family member in this facility. Thank God for the staff and whole facility. They know their stuff and are great at what they do. Of course, some of the patients will complain and bitch for one thing or another but they aren't thrilled to be coming down off of their drugs. This is a third attempt at a rehab and this so far is the most successful. I realize it's a day by day thing but this was the best place to go for this problem. Attend the Sunday visitation, specifically the hour BEFORE you see your loved one. It teaches us (the enablers) how to regain our lives and what to expect here after. We learned alot through this hour each week, prior to seeing our loved one. God it's so nice to reclaim our house, without the locks on things etc. I was so afraid we never would get this far along...thank GOD. Best wishes to you and your families.

I went to Bowling Green for 28 days for addiction to pain pills. I thank God on a daily basis for this facility. I heard tons of complaints from other patients most of them didnt want the help. I checked myself in and wanted help and the staff was there for me every step of the way. Majority of techs and counselors are recovering addicts themselves and I think this is EXTREMELY important since they understand what we as addicts are going through. There are no outside diversions at Bowling Green No TV, or radio not much time to socialize but that keeps you focused on your recovery. As for what the other reviewer said about clients getting caught doing drugs and not getting kicked out. I personnally believe that you are gonna find usage at any facility, I knew clients who used and got kicked out of Bowling Green but i also knew one who didnt get kicked out. I think it is an individual consideration as to what to do with those caught using I do have to say that the clent I know that was allowed to stay is very gratefull that they were given a second chance and has not picked up since that incident in November. My advice to anyone is stick with the positive people thats what I did and dont worry about what others are or arent doing worry about and concentrateon you and your own recovery. I highly recommend Bowling Green although I just got out at the end of November I believe I am a success story. Bowling Green was my first rehab and I hope and pray it is my last.

I would not reccommend this treatment center. People were caught doing drugs and were allowed to stay. I find it difficult to take recovery seriously when people are permited to do the very thing everone else is there to get away from.
