Mine was a first time stay at any rehab. My age is 63 and knew I needed help. I was not only willing to get help but desperately wanted it. I've now been sober for 4 months and woudn't have been able to do this without Valley Hope and the 12 step program.Highly recommend program for those willing to work for it. Parents-don't fool yourself. If your child isn't ready to kick the habit putting them in rehab won't work magically . They have to want it.

My wife went for treatment and found that Valley Hope offered a more civilized treatment compared to other facilities. The place does need a facelift badly....rooms and especially bathrooms are in need of a facelift. Don't expect "Betty Ford or "Passages Malibu " when you go here yet, you will find that the people and staff are most accomidating to your paticular addition.

Avoid this place like the plague. There are NO reliable stats on success. They make them up. After all, how do you evaluate success? Questionnaires to former patients??? All I can tell you is you will see many people who have been through here time and time again. Some keep coming through to avoid jail or because the DFW area is so lacking in good facilities. Counselors are pathetic. Drugs are used on campus. People leave for AA and come back drunk or stoned. Cramped, dismal rooms. Holier than thou attitude from "professional" staff. These former addicts don't seem that "former". Communications is a joke. Hot Seat is out dated - theory from the 1970's that is dead in better facilities. They encourage you to socialize/exchange numbers. Lots of former patients end up "partying" together after they leave. More reputable hospitals discourage the exchange of phone numbers. If you want phone numbers, go to AA -- a person still in the middle of rehab ain't support. This place will screw with your job, marriage, and quality of life. They should be shut down.

Understaffed. Rude nurses. Cramped rooms with very uncomfortable beds. Very strict when it comes to making you groups and waking up at 7am to get breakfast and make "communications" where they gather all the patients in the room and yell out their schedules, very confusing. Food gave me food poisoning, so I stayed away. Doctors or nurses don't treat individual problems. Not enough counselors to go around. Groups and meetings are very repetitive. Hardly any opportunity or equipment for recreation, and no built in physical fitness program, which should be included in the rehabilitation process. High relapse rate, drugs being used on the campus. They claim they, unlike other rehab centers, have a 30 percent success while all other facilities have a dismal 15 percent. The web site sounds a whole lot nicer than what it really is.

The relapse rate is horrible here. It is like a revolving door. Many of the patients have been through numerous times. Privacy policies not enforced. Patients given other patients meds. Push IOP which is the same as the day program after you finish inpatient so they can make more money. If you want to get sober, it is up to you. Go to AA and do the 90 in 90 or NA. Avoid this place - most of the counselors are not degreed. They have a few courses (15 hours - equal to 5 classes of counseling education).
