SPARC is a great treatment center if you are ready for treatment. It is tough, they hold you accountable and wont do for you what you can do for yourself. I was taught some very valuable lessons and given the tools needed to maintain sobriety.

When you arrive in Spokane you have to walk, ride a bus or take a taxi. When you graduate they basically kick you to the curb first thing in the morning and say goodbye and it doesn't matter what time your bus leaves the station. Many clients were smoking pot while they were there and some were doing so on the front porch.

Details:

SPARC needs treatment itself. 3 men left 30 day intensive inpatient treatment with certificates without doing any assignments, treatment assistants escalating issues with clients and calling the police and having them thrown out of treatment needlessly. Something as simple as having aspirin or ibuprofen available for clients is not there. They ran out of aspirin on a Wednesday and we were told that we used too much and would have to wait until Friday until there another supply available. In the recovery house we were lucky to have 2-3 hours a week with our counselor. The staff would actually avoid us. One client had to go to a clinic for a minor issue and was told to walk down hill 4 blocks and then head east 19 blocks and he should find the clinic. Plus another client had to walk with him because the clinic would not give them a ride and threatened to terminate his treatment if he did not do what they said (he was court ordered)Constantly arguing with staff that even though the thermostat was set at 68 the temperature in the house was 58-60 and was too cold for the environment. Miserable experience

She fought to take me to a sweat lodge, because non white people had ever been in there. she won, and I did go. I want her to know how relevant it has been in my life, and how much my life has changed because of it. I was adopted by the tribe, and I have to have more info about it. please! please! I have to know more about who I have become, and that is where it all began I believe it was around 1997. she came to the in-patient center at sparc, as a counselor, and said her spirit guides sent her to get someone, it was me. I need to talk to her before its too late, and tell her thank you. My name is Tracy Ross. At that time it may have been Gilbert. My phone number is 360 808 4207
