I have been a patient @ this clinic for nearly two years now. The reason I became a patient @ the Metro was because I have severe back issues and was being prescribed to the strongest opiates out there. I made the decision that the meds that I was being prescribed were taingovewer my life and I was dependent on them. If I would have been informed before I started the treatment program on how difficult it was to come off of methodone I never would have started the program. Methodone is by far the most difficult drug to comre off of that there is in existence. That's not just my opinion either. I have done my research, have my own personal experience, and have discussed ths with many other methodone treatment patients. If you are thinking about going on methodone for treatment think long and hard about what you are getting into and do your research. I know people that have been going there for eight years! That's insane! Also the counselors are so busy all you are to them is an assigned number. The communication there is ..... Lets put it this way on a scale of 1-10 I give it a zero. If I could go back I would definately have taken a different approach on my treatment options. I would have checked myself into a detox center and saved myself a lot of time and money. I am strongly considering doing this now. After two years of being there I feel have regressed and I know there has to be something better. At least I hope there is. Good Luck to you all with over coming your addiction and with your treatment. If you decide you are ready. Just be sure you are making the right choice. One more thing, be sure you want to get clean and be drug free because if you don't you will fail.
