Details:

My elderly father has been using this facility for a while. My interactions with caseworker and dietician have been very friendly and helpful. My limited interactions with techs have also been friendly. I don’t believe that the staffing figures shown for 2006 are indicative of 2009. However, currently, the facility appears to be short staffed or is going through economic hardships. They had to rearrange patient’s schedules to compress them into three days. They were opened from Mon through Sat, but now are only opened on M, W, & F. When I have called the facility on several occasions, CM answers the phone instead of an office assistant. The Case Manager/Nurse, is not so affable when it come to communication with Caregivers. CM appear frustrated because she doesn’t have time when caregiver(s) call to inquiry about care for Dad. I do believe in her heart she cares for the patients, but her tone voice appears to be indicative of stress. It is not my business to tell how someone should run their business – but it is my business to be concerned for my parent’s health care quality. My interactions with the caseworker and dietician have been very friendly and helpful. I have tried to be patient with facility, but CM has a tone of frustration. If CM would be friendlier instead of short, I believe that patients/caregivers will be more sympathetic to their short staffing or economic hardship.
