08/07/2018 3 Stars (3 out of 5) by MARY Review for LOCK HAVEN DIALYSIS CLINIC We are human and deserve respect and not offered ultimatives. Dialysis is not something taken lightly and by all means we have patient rights. If a tech has created a problem then it should be investigated and not taken lightly. Our fistula which is our life line should not be mistreated after all if poor technique is used it will be the patient that suffers not the tech. Furthermore I have witnessed the techs do not listen to concerns they just do as they wish or make excuses. If you are not happy with a discision they do not ask why they just hand a form to sign which does not fix the problem it just elimates the legality issues for them.

It is pretty bad that they classify themselves as 5 star when it is not. The unit may be 5 star but an over all picture is not. As a patient if you get pain during a stick you dare not react becaus you are accused of being a disturbance even though you are human no one likes pain especially when the tech continues to cause more until you have no choice but to yell. Forgive me for being human. And then it is told that other patients reported the disturbance but the staff lied it was them that reported it. But then you are threatened to have your care stopped. What happen to a patient's rights. I just want to say I am accused of being disturbance how about the on professionalism of an run verbally speaking out of turn to me in fripont of other patients and other staff.

The staff at this center is more concerned with having a good time than taking care of its patients. My mother was a patient there and I was there ever visit with her. They left her blood pressure fall to extremes and when we questioned it were told its just a number. She had pneumonia for 2 months and I begged Dr. Gandy to check her and he told me not to get excited, just give it time, now she is dead from pneumonia. After speaking to her cardologist, we found that they should not have left her B.P. drop like that and he should have been consulted with and was not. If you take a loved one there, please keep ypur eye on things.

Patient rights
Details:

In reference to having patient rights are they for real, yes the center has policies that you can pick your tech if a patient is uncomfortable with a new tech why should they be made to have that tech or if you give that tech a chance and their technique is wrong why should the patient let them stick them again. Ask yourself this, who would suffer is something went wrong? It would not be the tech. A patient should feel comfortable with their caregiver. Plus the staff have a tendency to talk down to the patients. These patients once held a job and are not retarded they only have kidneys that failed so please treat them with respect.
