Christ the King Manor Discussion by Anonymous

Christ the King Manor
Details:

My friend is almost totally bed bound. Since in the past when complaints were lodged there were repercussions I'll refer to my friend as "the patient". This patient is put in the wheel chair in the morning, only if someone takes the time to do it, it requires the lift. Then if the patient soils the diaper or just needs to be freshened up, it is back in the bed. They only put the patient in the chair once a day. The patient is made to sit in the chair from around 7 am until about 2 pm. This is the only way for the patient to socialize and to have a meal in the dining room. One day I called at around 6:30 pm. The patient was very distraught, and having a difficult time breathing. The patient had been in the wheel chair nearly 12 hours. The patient had been wheeled to the room around 2 and told they would be right in as soon as they got the lift. The supper tray had been delivered but the patient couldn't eat since it was nearly out of reach and the patient had slid down in the chair and was having a difficult time breathing. I asked if the bell string had been pulled. It was still fastened to the bed. Also out of reach....I asked if it would be alright if I called the nursing home myself and the patient said "please" This is a person over 90 years of age. When I called the home and was connected to the person in charge of that unit. All I got was a lot of excuses about how understaffed they were. When I called the next day, my friend related that her punishment for complaining was to stay in the bed for the day. This patient would like to go to the dining room for the evening meal but they simply won't get the lift and put the patient in the chair. I was there once when the evening meal come. It was a nasty looking sandwich and some broth. The patient looked at it and waved it away. When asked if it was going to be eaten the patient said no! With that the health care provider took half the sandwich and ate it. When the family has voiced complaints they were told the patient was delusional and didn't know anything. We have witnessed the lack of care and were very subtly let know it could get worse. The patient is on Social Security and medicare. The family has been told that the patients care is solely the homes responsibility. In other words if the family isn't happy with the care then pay for better care.

My friend is totally bed bound. I'll refer to my friend as "the patient" as there have been subtle repercussions when a complaint was lodged in the past. In the morning the patient is taken out of bed with the lift and put in a wheel chair. But if the need arises for a diaper change or just to be cleaned and freshened. Back in the bed and no more socializing. If the patient wants to visit with other patients or to have lunch in the dining room, the patient must sit in a soiled diaper. One day I called and found that the patient had been sitting in the chair all day. When I called it was about 6:30 p.m. The patient had been wheeled to the room at 2 p.m. and left to sit there in a soiled diaper. When the supper was brought in it was put on the bed side tray out of reach. The patient was told someone would be right in to put the patient in bed. When I called the patient was in tears. Not only was sitting in a mess but couldn't reach the supper tray and had slipped down in the wheel chair and was having a hard time breathing. I immediately called the nursing home. I was connected to the person who was in charge of that unit. I got a lot of excuses about being short staffed... etc. The next day when I called, the patient was very upset. They told the patient that since the patient was unhappy the day before the patient could just spend the day in the room in the bed. The patient is never taken to the dining room for the evening meal since it would require getting the lift. I have been there when the evening meal is delivered. Awful!!! one day it was a sandwich.. My friend said it looked awful. The health care provider ask if it was going to be eaten. My friend said no and with that the health care provider took half the sandwich and ate it. I was astonished but was told to be quiet by my friend. The patient then told me not to complain or it would get worse. Frankly I could go on and on but nothing will change. When the patients family tries to relate some of the things they are told that the patient is delusional and they should be grateful that the patient is getting the care that is given. However we have seen the mistreatment. None of the family has the funds to move the patient and we were told that the nursing home is the sole decision maker since the patient is of medi-care and Social Security.

I had a very different experince at this facility. I stayed for the full 90 days. From my experince, the only people who would have those reviews would b the ones who aren't ready to surrender and work on themselves. This was the most friendly environment with staff who treat you with respect and truly care about your recovery. I would rate it overall 4 stars! (At least) to this day the staff still wants to know that I'm doing good and living a healthy life. I will pray for those of you that are lost in your addiction and won't get out of the fog.

Cinnaminson Center
Details:

Personal hygiene for patients is very poor. A resident was going for dr appt without being shaved and had dried stool on his hands. Patients call for help with call bells. Nurses just stand at Nursing Station chatting while ignoring calls Residents that can't speak for themselves usually have someone checking their care frequently. There was a time witnessed by family member when Nurse refused ordered pain medication for patient. Patient with dementia was questioned about condition but couldn't respond accordingly The family members ended up in an argument with the nurse. I feel that negligence and abuse occurred here. A different patient was admitted for rehab therapy. The second day this patient got up alone and fell . Patient was bruised from head to toe on right side. Facility doctor for this patient refused to discharge to home with round the clock care. Patient care is very poor due to understaffing. I feel this problem is so bad and in need of change everywhere

In our last patient satisfaction survey our social worker Jennifer was the highest rated care giver in our unit. We have never received one negative comment regarding Jennifer. We are suspect of the negatvie review of her. Also the majority of our patients have been with us for many years and have reported being pleased with their care and our staff. Of note and we have an extremenly low number of our patients transfer out and mostly due to insurance and relocation issues. Sheri Floramo Korbet Chief Operating Officer

Citrus memorial is run by corporate greed. While they step on the little people the ones at the top are getting fatter and fatter. If you want to go to a hospital they force the staff to carry double their load, work harder/longer and where the doctors are out right nasty to the people who work there and the patients...then that's the place for you. Just ask one of the workers there, if they are not to busy or irritable from the hell of working there.

Clay County Care Center Discussion by Anonymous

Clay County Care Center
Details:

Since my mother was transferred to Clay County Care Center, NC., from the hospital for the purpose of rehab, I decided to go online and see what info I could find about the reputation of the level of care provided to the residents. I have only started searching but so far have found inaccurate info about the ratings. I am disgusted with the care my mother has received. There are only a few cna's that have treated her with any amount of respect since she was admitted 20 days ago. I am afraid to skip a day and NOT show up at the nursing home for fear that my mother may have been left on her bed-pan all day, or worse, lying in the floor. I have been there with her on several occasions and listened to the buzzers going off for literally hours with not a single cna or nurse responding. I have gone to rooms to check on residents myself because no cna was to be found. During inspection however the place was jumping with a team of cna's and nurses! The residents were fed well and received lots of attention. However, as soon as the inspectors left, back to the same ol' routine. One resident was found in the parking lot at 3a.m. in his wheelchair just wondering around. There are numerous terrible things I have heard from people that have had relatives in this facility and now I believe what I have heard since my mother has been there and I have been visiting her every day. I am getting her out! ASAP!

I am a SOBER Alumni of Clean and Sober on Chestnut and am raising my eyebrows at some of the negative reviews! This is a SPOTLESS home environment! The staff are loving and caring, but strong and firm. The only problem I had was not wanting to leave my new home and family, even though I didn’t want to go there initially. I think some of the negative reviews are from those who may have been unready to give themselves over to the process of getting well. I owe my life to these people, I will love them and call them family forever.

Clinch Valley Treatment Center Discussion by Anonymous

Clinch Valley Treatment Center
Details:

This clinic is the fourth of which I have been a client. I have been on maintenance for many, many years, and when I transferred here I was sick for over six months before I felt remotely ok. However, I have never properly stabilized; and it has been a constant struggle living with it. I do because I have worked too long and hard to let it all fall apart now. Nevertheless,I keep hoping to find an alternative to this particular clinic. I don't know, maybe I will find a new clinic nearby when I look next...or maybe I could move. The best thing, though, would be if the quality at Clinch Valley would improve...if some official would check their methadone in a way they could not fake...or make them offer wafers or tablets. Something. Anything...because I really don't think I will be able to move anytime soon. Thanks for letting me say this. I am so tired of not being stable and having to fight ALL of the time. The thing is, is that I know from experience that tis is NOT how it is supposed to be. I know that stabilization and peace are actually possible, and I miss them.

I've been here for minor affects twice the first time in 2010 was awesome! I loved my therapist n the two ladies at the front were awesome! They knew names before ppl even signed in they werefunny as he'll n friendly, I actually heard a rumor they were mother n daughter, either way they knew what they were doing n did it quick painless friendly n fun. Then I noticed a lot of change idk if management or whatever changed. My second time back the younger girl was gone n her replacement was, to say in the least, unprofessional n oblivious. However I w as still able to call n sch with the other woman. Idk what happened but their both gone now n not only has the new "dumb" front talked badly about them but the whole place has gone to shit! No one knows what their doing. They r rude n unprofessional n seem to only want my money. They call to remind me of Dr appts n leAve msgs I don't even understand but when I showed up they told me it was canceled a month ago n "sorry for the confusion " now I'm off serious psyc meds! One hand don't know what the other is doing! Bring back the other two ladies! The older blond with glasses who is helarious BTW n the young sweet one who Know's damn well wtf she was doing! I'm not the only one every one who I talked to who went there before completely agreed! Do not go here with the shape this place is in now!!!!!!

Coastal Dialysis Center
Details:

Coastal Dialysis Center Bath, Maine. Been taking the man we've taken care of for almost ten years now. Yesterday first and second shift I requested to talk to the Nurse and the girl said, "I'm a Nurse." But she wore no tag saying Nurse but I told her concerns for his left foot and to have someone check it. Back to pick him up and different Nurse and she said, "We looked at it today and it is fine." Two hours later he is rushed to Hospital and the Doctor whom I know said, "It is infected." People such as he need to have the right care and such patients need to have feet examine regularly. Or they can lose their foot, leg, and even their life. The doctor told me who to contact concerning this poor treatment. I am today doing so.

I pay on time every week at Coastal horizons and when I looked hard at my receipts they were just taking my money and adding to my bill creating a deficit of over $500. When I went there to try to get it taken care of they tried to seize all of my proof and when I had to stand up and forcefully take the papers back they had security at the door. Unbelievable! The incompetence in that staff is in measurable. They are used to talking around their issues in jive but they weren't expecting my being able to combat that so they jumped to desperate measures. That is the type people you deal with trying to do the right thing.

Hello! I think YOU must be mixed up as you are not responding to ME, but someone else writing a review on detox. I was NOT in TX.9 times, this was my first inpatient stay...I never mentioned dirty sheets? What are YOU on? I am sober, not because of CRP. Your ignorance is typical of staff there. Mental illness? Yes, all addicts have SOME form, usually depression & anxiety.....but the Staff had the REAL MI issues both in TX & Detox. I'm sure you were all miserable, as it showed. It's not a healtyh place to recover, I know someone now in a TX center that is doing so well. They focus on nutrition, life skills/ schooling/ debt, even willing to find someone to take care of her animals. This place is Wayside, in St. Louis Park, strictly for Women. It's a tough program, you are always busy, much better than us sitting around in a moldy/smoke filled building. You do NOT focus on mental illness, as my friend died shortly after leaving becausr his COUNSELOR said he was doing so well, ha. SHAME ON YOU! RH

Cochran Recovery Program
Details:

First of all this review was written in 2009. I don't know what the staff was like then, but it has changed and the current staff is focusing on more current therapy. I don't know what the situation of the person who wrote the review was prior to treatment, but nine times in treatment tells me that either they didn't want to be in recovery (you are never recoverd,) or that you had some underlying mental illness that they didn't want to take medication for. Substance abuse is almost always a secondary diagnosis. Cochran Recovery Program may not be the Ritz or Hazelden, but the treatment, if you want to be in recovery, is excellent at this time. BTW, I think sleeping in a bed, with a stained sheet, (which I know doesn't happen,) is better than sleeping on a mattress behind a bar, or on a bench, or anywhere else outside or on the floor of some addicts dirty apartment.

Coliseum Northside Hospital
Details:

I returned to this hospital because it was a place of great care and quietness, but four years has it all gone to hell. I just have returned home with a TKR. After nuses took me off of my pain pump, it was three hours later I received meds. I have never been in so much pain, my teeth were chattering. On the second night I called to get help to go to the restroom, the lady that answer said, "well," you could tell she did not want you be bothered. After waiting ten minutes, I got myself up from the bed and as soon as I got to the restroom she walked in. She had her hands in her pockets and didn't say one word. I went to the bathroom myself, came out and she was gone. I managed to open the door and she was out in the hall with her hands back in her pockets, she was normally a nurse on floor 2 but was called up to help. I will NOT be going back.
