Campobello Chemical Dependency Discussion by Anonymous

Campobello Chemical Dependency
Details:

I have a son here at Campobello and have some concerns (cancelled important family Saturday meetings and way to much down time during the week as per my son and other patients that are there tell me). I called Campobello over the weekend and after voicing my concerns to a staff member who answered the phone they agreed with my concerns and said they were aware of this and suggested for me to (their words not mine) "go straight to the top" and speak with owner Mr. William Twitchell. So, I call Mr. Twitchell on Monday morning to bring up my concerns to him and the response I got from him was unbelievable. He got very defensive and argumentative. I was so shocked this was a response I get coming from an owner of a rehab facility. I really did not feel that Mr. Twitchell cared about me or my concerns. It felt to me that his concern was he received my money and nothing else mattered. That is just how I felt. I would do anything for my son and pay any amount which I paid cash using my life savings and retirement of $10,300.00 out of pocket since our insurance did not cover any of it. There were many other options for me to take my son for treatment other then Campobello. I only wish Mr Twitchell would have shown a little more compassion and not have gotten so defensive and rude. I also hope and pray to god my son gets the help & care we were promised. That is all we ask from Campobello. My son will have to do the rest. "Grant Me The Serenity To Accept The Things I Can Not Change, The Courage To Change The Things I Can And The Wisdom To Know The Difference"

Cancer Treatment Centers of America Discussion by Anonymous

Cancer Treatment Centers of America
Details:

i took my father to the emergency room because he was complaining of severe back pain The hospital said he had Osteoartrites and he should see his doctor the next day, which he did.He had also been complaining of a hernia which he has had for a few years,so I had him back to his doctor who sent him for a MRI.When that came back he told my father he could not operate on him because he had a much bigger problem. He told us he had a mass around his spinal cord and it was crippling him and he also had lesions on his back and lungs.(he also said the emergency doctor was wrong he did not have Osteoarthrites)After that visit we were sent fot a CAT scan and soon after a PET scan all along taking many blood samples and vitals. My father was then sent to their cancer treatment center for 17 radiation treatments. We set up a appointment to have a biopsy done 2weeks later. When we got there they put him in a room and told him to put a gown on. Someone else came in told him to get dressed, then a third person came in said they were checking equipment then anestia guy came in to ask more questions Finally after nearly 1 1/2 hrs they came in and told us they didnt have the equipment they needed to do the procedure and they would call to reschedule. Each time my father had a radiation treatment he was very ill. With each treatment he progressively got worst (vomiting, cant eat ,light headed cant stand at times,in much pain, very weak now the only thing he can hold down is chocolate milk. He has lost over 20lbs and now looks very frail. My father was always very healthy. When on his last treatment of radiation he was talking to the nurse there about the confussion over the biopsy and she replied"do you mean they dont even know if you have cancer, you should not have had treatment until that was confirmed"Now we want a 2nd opinion. Im afraid to take my father back there. Can you help? Thank you Anne Slevenski 814 647 3312 mom56dukes@yahoo

Canton Nursing Center Discussion by Anonymous

Canton Nursing Center
Details:

My mom was brought over from the hospital with MRSA and I wasn't even told she had that! And they put her in isolation (a dying, paralyzed, scared woman thrown into an ugly, depressing room). The nurse, Vessie, talked loudly in front of my mom like she wasn't there, talking about all the horrible conditions my mom had (MSRA, paralyzation, cancer, thickened liquids and pureed foods). I stood in the hall and literally almost threw up crying and looking at this person wondering why she did what she did. In addition, she argued with the ambulance driver who said the pad on her bed was incorrect for a pressure wound. He was right, but she dug in her heels and got nasty and finally everyone had to admit to her that she was right so she would leave and stop destroying my mother. I have never been so disgusted in my life. What are we doing to our elders???

Cape Canaveral Hospital Discussion by Anonymous

Cape Canaveral Hospital
Details:

I had a cardiac catheterization on Wed. 9/7/2016. It was the worst experience I have ever had for a procedure anywhere. I was no t properly sedated. I was left completely awake and conscious the entire time. At no time was I asked if I was in distress. At no time was I asked if I needed anything for pain. This is absolutely the worst experience ever for me. I have had renal for 26 yrs. and have been treated in many hospitals and this by far the worst experience ever. I would never recommend Cape Canaveral Hospital to anyone. The worst staff by far I have ever encountered. I was completely traumatized.

Capitol Dialysis Discussion by Anonymous

Capitol Dialysis
Details:

I am very concerned that due to the inclement weather there were several dialysis patient that was unable to receive treatment. This concerns me because these treatments are life and death situations for the individuals. American Renal Associates was the only organization that did not provide care for their patients during the inclement weather. I watch FOX5 News and DaVita another well known Dialysis Center not only was soliciting four wheel drives to get their patients to their Centers for treatment, but also provided a list of names of individuals receiving care in their facilities to the city. Is one organization is willing to make sure that their patients are taken care of during inclement weather, shouldn't other facilites feel the same way. I am familiar with the medical field and am aware that hospitals often provide overnight sleeping arrangements for their staff, is this not a policy that the American Renal Associates has to ensure that their patients receive the best care possible. I think that it is awful that due to inclement weather patients were not treated and when contacting the facilities were told that they are free to come in, but the facility could not provide transportation for them. All the money that the facilities are receiving for the treatment of these patients, I think some of the funds should be invested in a rainy day fund to hire individuals with four wheel drives during inclement weather to make sure that their patients receive treatment. I will be contacting the appropriate parties to confirm that the appropriate procedures will be taken in the future.

Sometimes his mind will forget that he is cleaned every day and he may not even remember my last visit, but if anyone believes their family member is not cleaned every day, report it to the State and they will check it out. Care America Home Healthcare Discussion by Anonymous

Care America Home Healthcare
Details:

If i can't trust their billing practice-Do i want these people in my home!?? I invite you to take their 20 min home visit--THEN attempt to get a monthly--weekly--even 'yearly' invoice...for the 'service'--or,'free' supplies that Medicare (God forbid you have a secondary insurance!!!) is billed for in your behalf. Where is the 'Time sheet' that the client must sign for Medicare?? Do you 'dare' ask for one? This company must be immediately policed (and welcome it if there's actually no fraud involved) Our grandchildren will one day sooner than later rely on this very system for their healthcare...Is Grandfather aware that he may be the very reason they never benefit from Medicare. Grandpa's getting a kiss and a slap everytime this group files a Medicare claim in his behalf.

The Clinical Manager Of Carolina Dialysis/RRI is very dishonest....The staff that originate from Siler City do no take their jobs or the nature of peoples live seriously. They falsify documents, and one morning they did check the chlorine or water prior to putting patients on the machine which could have turned out deadly.....they can not accept positive feedback....when something wrong is brought to their attention they felt that they were being nick picked on which in reality it was brought to their attention to help them be aware of certain things in the future..I would never recommend my family going their nevertheless i would definitely not refer anyone who wants to keep their license to work their either!

So sad to see several same stories of how loved ones are treated unless family is there to make things happen. Appears that their intentions may sound good but cannot depend on. Only a handful of people keep the place going. No clear directions are made to the staff or either they are not made to follow through to meet patient needs. It take a TEAM to make a healthy & caring Environment, also leadership that actually CARE about people with many needs. Like not taking people to bathroom & causing UTI infections. Not feeding liquids, this should happen every time they walk in the room. Not enough showers & the stories go on & on.

If you do not take insurance then you are NOT in this to help people, period. I am an opiate addict trying to maintain suboxone therapy. I cannot afford the fees. Recently, I volunteered at the clinic I went to to volunteer 2 days a week to submit insurance forms and do secretarial work so the patients could afford the treatment. I am qualified. I have heard NOTHING back- I had asked the doctor why they didn't take insurance and he told me because they couldn't afford a secretary (they had a very nice office). Well, I offered to do it for FREE to help myself, as well as others. So far, they are not interested. I wonder why that is??

Caron Treatment Centers Discussion by Anonymous

Caron Treatment Centers
Details:

I cannot recommend Caron to anyone after what happened to my 19 year old daughter. We only got her there for the assessment and planned to extend for the full month once that was over. On a conference call with her and the therapists on Tuesday, they recommended the full month stay and my husband and I agreed. She then had a severe anxiety attack and they called an ambulance--upon her return they parked her in detox and called us to say they couldn't handle an attack like that. (Honestly? At a place that claims expertise in dual diagnosis?)

They said they would look for a more psychiatric place with a program. They spoke to us about SP in MD and I asked several times if they were speaking of the Retreat program there and they indicated they were so I agreed. Just as she was being put in the car Friday evening to take her there they indicated that it was SP's co-occurring units disorder and insurance would cover five days. We were beside ourselves, but she was off. SP could not confirm she was there for over 24 hours when our daughter finally called us last night. SP's co-occurring unit is in a seedy acute psychiatric facility where the city dumps homeless people who have shown up in the ER and are deemed to be a danger to themselves. Caron likewise just dumped our daughter there, giving us the impression they had found a long-term premiere alternative. They failed to have my daughter sign a release so SP could talk to us (and confirm where she was), nor to Caron itself--what did they care? They just got rid of a patient they didn't want. How do you go from recommending a month of treatment to dumping someone in an acute facility that is by nature short term and aimed at an entirely different category of patient?

We visited our daughter today, Sunday, and tried to get her out but it proved impossible as the doctor hasn’t seen her. We will go tomorrow and take legal action if she is not released. In some sense we may have been lucky Caron dumped her. Her report of Caron is that is chaotic. Drugs were being smuggled in, patients were having sex, and fights broke out regularly. Kids purposely injure themselves so they have to be taken to the hospital where they hope to be able to call their parents. Outgoing letters are censored for any negative mention of treatment at Caron. She met people there who had not seen a therapist the entire month. No matter how the patients did, they were all recommended to go to Caron Renaissance in Florida.

For our daughter’s “assessment” she was seen ten minutes by a doctor and another ten by the psychiatrist. Patients were taken off all their meds, including SSRIs, and some had very adverse reactions. She was taken off all her (nonpsych meds) including her allergy medication. They had asked us to bring all her medication with her. Apparently, they were all immediately dumped in the trash, including the new sealed bottle of Allegra I thoughtfully provided, so when she finally comes home she will not have meds she is taking for gastrointestinal and musculoskeletal problems and we will have to place many calls to replace the prescriptions. And now we have to figure out how to piece together treatment at home–which we had tried to do before but were really struggling–the reason we sent her to Caron in the first place. I cannot imagine how this could have turned out worse.

I understand that the receptionist cannot release any information about clients, what I do not understand is why she could not give general information about the facility and what your policies are. Also, why you allow your staff to rudely hang up on someone who is merely calling for inquiries. Families are concerned about their loved ones and the last thing we need is to find out that someone they care about is beind treated by individuals that have no compassion.

Cartersville Medical Center Discussion by Anonymous

Cartersville Medical Center
Details:

these people need to communicate with each other. some of the nurses act as if they are paying the patient to be there!!! some are mean, evil and LOST when it comes to their job. one hospitalist is indeed a liar. i had to get a copy of my husband's records for the past 5 years just to prove a point. he still discussed my husband's case with our friends and other people in the hospital. i asked for aa apoligy.......never got it. the nurses part directly in the front of the hospital and visitors have to park a little to far away. i have so many complaints,i could type forever!!!
