I cannot say enough good things about the care I received as a patient in this hospital for 6 days recently. I was on the 5th floor, the staff was the most caring I have ever seen. In my opinion, this hospital, staff and of course my own physician saved my life.

My son was a patient on 1/6/2010 in the early morning at the emergency room. After being awake with back pain the whole night before, he decided to get help, he was in quite a bit of pain for him to do this. He is a fairly well 32 year old and doesn't frequent doctors for care. Why the er ? because he thought he could still make it to work and be helped with the back pain. While waiting to see a doc he was brought to a space where the nurse who brought him there went out of the room. During her conversation with another nurse her comment was " what ! couldn't he wait a couple more hours for his own doctor ?" this was niether necessary nor her decision to make. Nor was it appropriate. He was so effected he refused he assistance. The doctor was not concerned either. I am appauled that this attitude is displayed. The nurse ( or whatever she was) is being paid to provide a service to patients, my son is a person asking for help, and if they showed some true compassion I would not feel the need to take this time out to express this commentary. My very good friend is Muff Maskofsky, I will be asking him to share this poor example of patient care at a next board meeting. I really think that the people who are in charge of the facility should be aware of the message they convey. Mrs. Barbara Clark, my son is Shayn.
