I give this Nursing Home an excellent rating. My Step mother was there for the last few months of her life (2007) and my father for a year until nis death (2013) and presently my sister who has is there now and has been for 5 years. I live over 600 miles away and I can rest at night knowing she is well cared for. As a retired nurse and former inspector for nursing facilities , I am familiar with regulations and problems encountered in such facilities, and one of the strong points of this facility is staff retention---the director of nurses and several charge people have been there since 2007. I want particularly point out charge nurse on day tour who responds to any concerns I have and has called me with updates unsolicited when things have occurred in my sisters care. I admit I was concerned when a new administrator came that the climate of care might change, and it has for the better. It was a smooth transition for the residents and there have been improvements that are evident.I cannot be more pleased with this hometown facility that becomes family to these residents and family to us as well. I feel that for the most part staff treats residents like they are family---if not they are not there long..
