My family member lived here for several years and was very happy. The rooms are nice, and he liked the food. The nurses are on top of things and very kind. He especially liked the visiting dogs. I would recommend Good Samaritan to anyone whose family needs extra care.

Details:

My mother was recently a short term resident at good samaritan society in stillwater for a few weeks. I was extremely let down by the quality of care she received. The building had many issues with the plumbing. My mother said she had baths that were too cold because they ran out of hot water, and baths that were too hot because the tubs were malfunctioning. The nursing staff does their best to be on time with cares, but the staff was simply spread too thin, and management didn't seem to want to rectify this issue. The aids kept apologizing for lack of staff, and admitted they had been significantly understaffed for almost 6 months. The management, when spoken to, seemed to not have any interest in hearing my concerns, or correcting any staffing or building issues. The kitchen staff was very rude. My mother wasn't fond of some of the menu options, and when she asked for a bowl of soup and a sandwich, she was given loud sighs and dirty looks by the kitchen staff. I had no problem with the nursing staff, as it was clear they truly care about their residents, and try to work as fast as they can, while still maintaining a quality level of care. This facility needs to take better care of their own staff, and their residents. They also need to pretend to care when family members, or residents themselves, bring up issues to management. I was treated like a child most of the time by upper management. (I'm 50 years old.) It makes me sick to think about how condescending they must have been to my mother in the absence of my presence. I would never recommend this facility to any friends or family members.
