Facility is not clean, everyone seems to be distracted by their phones. Nurses with a few exceptions, are hard pressed to go out of their way to help anyone get any change in their treatent plan whatsoever, things go missing, get broken, bells go unnoticed, belongings are mistreated, attitudes are poor, people are just left to sit or lay, meds are marked off as being given in the computer, and then they do god knows what with them, when you ask for pain meds for someone, they say they are not in pain, pain is what they say it is, they don't know, the place is hell on earth but where else would all the medicaid people go. God bless them. Note there are some good employees, but the bad ones outnumber them.

This facility should be shut down. My mother passed away in this facility January, 2004 and the issues were reported to the State. What a shame that there is nothing the State can do to shut it down. But of course it is a for profit facility and big business wins out over the decent care of elderly patients.

The place was filthy. There was food on the elevator floor. The elevator was used to deliver food and they were not prompt at cleaning up any food that may have spilled. It was there when I arrived and there when I left. People were left to sit around in their dirty Depends. Call bells were not answered promptly. One time my mom rang the bell and no one showed up to take her to the bathroom. I went to the desk after 15 minutes and saw four of them standing around talking and laughing. My mom was left to sit around in her wheelchair or on the bed for hours at a time. She had a broken wrist and leg so it was hard for her to get around. Several times she had on the same dirty clothes that she had on the day before. The food was disgusting looking. I wound up tasting one of her meals and it was terrible. I would not send my dog to that place. Her roommate also had a broken leg. She had surgery and had a cover on her legs that had to be taken off twice a day but most of the time they would forget.

The facility was dirty and not kept clean. Pieces of the walls were fallen off. I needed a certain procedure ordered by my surgeon. The nurse refused. I ask him to call the doctor. He said he did and he didn't have to perform the procedure. He lied. The doctor said he never called. It called additional problems because the procedure wasn't done leaving to a year surgeries, care at John Hopkins, etc. Just because a nurse wouldn't follow the doctors orders. I wouldn't recommend anyone go there.

my grandmother was admitted to Golden Living on Wed. and 3 days later I received a call telling me that she was being transported to Holy Spirit ER for a bad leg injury. I arrived to the hospital to see that she had a huge gash down to the muscle in her calf it took 22 stitches to close the gash. When returning to Golden Living 4 hours later there was no one around to answer my questions as to how this happened and not only that my grandmother's bed was still unmade or any nurse there to attend to her. I had to strip the bloody sheets from her bed myself as she was lieing in it and trying to calm down from her trip to the hospital. The doctor from the ER sent instructions to the home for the care of her wound such as the bandages must be changes 2 times a day. Unfortunatly I must be there to remind the staff to do this otherwise it doesn't get done. And the attitude of some of the staff when I mention things to them is horrible. I realize they may be understaffed and many of them overworked, but to be disrespectful to the families and patients in their care is not necessary. They need to remember those people are their pay checks.
