I worked with this facility for 8months and that is the most horrible time of my life, Good luck working with them, management is a joke and they're mean, omg ...very incompetent, especially HR... If she doesn’t like a staff, She frustrates them out of the facility by talking down, and making them feel belittled no matter how hardworking you're, to fix that facility and make it a good place for the residents and staffs they need a good HR and unit managers. Wish I could upload pics to show how dirty the place is

my father lived here for 17 months he was not able to speak and was fully dependant on getting him around. he also had a tracheostomy done to him and was tube fed. basically he relied on the staff for anything and everything. the first couple of months were hard for him and the staff getting used to everything. there were some problems communicating with staff and getting a point across. after the first few months when they were able to understand his needs his stay there made his life much better. the rooms werent the biggest but on a cheap budget it was acceptable. the nurses there are excelent just needed to be reminded to flush his feeding tubes more often but that is my only negative about covington heights. the staff was without a doubt AMAZING they were caring and had "care confrences" just to see what we thought and how things were going. they always followed through with our demands the best they could. the cna's were outstanding and came as soon as possible for him everytime if we ever needed anything and i couldnt say enough about how greatful i am for everything they had done for him in the last 17 months of his life. if you are considering living there it might be a culture shock in the transition but just like everything else all good things come to those who wait. which is how it was with my dad. i would say this center has its kinks but no matter where you go your not going to like everything but it will grow on you. i cant say enough how glad i am that my dad stayed there. when he passed every staff member and resident that was there came up to us to express their sympathy and how they will miss him. not one person staff or resident was able to keep from tearing up a little and i am forever greatful to the staff at golden heights in sioux falls, sd
