To begin with- you only go to St. Peter CARE if you are civilly committed as chemically dependent. It is a locked unit for regulating 'impulsive actions' and to prevent 'elopement' aka 'fuck this place, and everybody in it' I was at CARE for 54 days, and overall wouldn't be able to accredit anything or any group/person/counselor being helpful in my 'recovery'. Where to actually begin with my experience is difficult as a large portion of what I experienced was unhelpful and negative. Their is currently one counselor who runs the majority of groups- Sean Mansfield, a perpetual burnout that most likely couldn't hold a job in a regular CD treatment center, due to giving off the impression of failure and nonchalance. His supervisor and occasional group facilitator is Kinsey Stauffer. She has what I would refer to as big turd in a little bowl syndrome. The food is supplied by a catering company that serves, literally, jail food. Aviands. The facility works on a 'level system' From red to yellow, blue, and then green. The only differentiating factor from red to blue, is that on the weekend, once, you can order food. That's all folks. Your life, your recovery, and possibly your overall mental health will suffer a downward swing.

my fiancee was a petient in this place and she is a type 1 diabetic. This is the worst place on the face of the planet to be if you actually have a medical condition. They let her sit for over 12 hours with blood sugar over 500 and it wasnt going down. She had ketoacidosis and i called expressing my serious concerns as to why they were doing nothin and the lady was rude and acted like it wasnt a medical emergency well let me tell you these are suppose to be nurses they have to have at least one RN on staff and where do you go to school to be an RN that you arent taught about diabetes and when they have an emergency situation. She told me and i quote that her dr didnt give them a number as to when her blood sugar was an emergency. I could have reached thru the phone and slapped this lady. Is there a human being alive that doesnt know 500 for over 12 hrs is a damn emergency and could be life threatening. So does that mean if you are a patient and have a heart attack your gonna die because your dr didnt tell them a heart attack was an emergency situation. This place is why places like this get a bad name. Dont kid yourself its a prison and once the doors close behind you all they care about is your sober dont matter if you die of a medical condition or not long as your sober. Goes to show why they have such a amazing track record yet our tax money goes to fund these morrons on a power trip who shouldnt be allowed to care for a damn goldfish yet alone a human being. All i can say is if you have a loved one considering going here PLEASE PLEASE hear me when i say find anywhere else anywhere a vet clinic would take better care of them than this place and how the state still funds it after all the bullshit is prolly why we have a debt crisis because a little more research should.go into who gets money for funding.I will be filing a neglect lawsuit against these people and i pray this makes you think it thru before letting your loved one go here because soon their terrible medical policies are gonna cost someone their life which is not acceptable from any state funded medical treatment program good luck and god bless

The "Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise" facility is a dangerous, (Suicides), dishonest hell-hole with abusive, (both sexual and mental), "Licensed Counselors" like "Nicole, and the whale Leah Vandervest), (Former major drug addicts themselves), as well as the rude, narcissistic "Techs" like Ashley Samora, and the one called the Antichrist, Kirsty D. (The number one abuser of residents at this prison-type hell-hole. The person in charge is an arrogant snob named Hanna Marzinske. The resident "Psychologist" Randy, is a wannabe "doctor" that tries very hard to "impress" people with his BS. Here is the bottom line: This "CARE" facility needs to be shut-down. These are dishonest, untrained, unskilled employees that are taking your tax dollars and hording it for themselves without giving your loved ones the real care and attention they deserve. The den of thieves at this facility only "CARE" about keeping your loved ones for the max time they can, (42 days) just for the money. Your loved ones will not receive any "CARE" whatsoever. This hell-hole is a dangerous, and very unsafe environment. This writer will be reporting them to the State of Minnesota, and any other agency to have them shut down for people dying, and suffering at the hands of sadistic, abusive, unskilled, uncaring workers!

This facility was practically brand new when I did my rehab. I was there in April through June of 2008. The staff was great especially the counselor who I had. Her name was Rachael. I don't think she works there any more but she was an excellent counselor. I was an older female so having so many young people there kinda sucked but I did ok. I would recommend this rehab center.
