The facility is old, musty and decrepit. When you walk in the front door if you look up you'll see green and black mold which has formed and is growing. A very bad health hazard. I honestly don't feel well after every visit to this establishment and I am going to file a complaint with the town. The owner is pompous. He will go on and on and on about his personal life while accomplishing nothing.

Ears has its good points. Some of the staff do give a crap, it but some not so sure. One of the doctors that gives you subs is super nice and has your back. The other has no personality, doesn’t act like she gives a crap, and it ALWAYS late! If you have an appointment with her at 10, she won’t even arrive until 1030 or 1045. It’s ridiculous! Also, some of the staff shove their political views down your throat, which leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. I thought this was a place of recovery, not a place for political discussion! And when they schedule your appointments, the people that make the appointment don’t care about your availability, or what you have discussed with the nice doctor, they will give you a time and you HAVE to make it even if you have kids, or a job, or any other obligation and can’t make it. You have to be there or you are shit out of luck!

I agree with the other review : the people who write bad reviews are the people who don't follow the simple rules EARS asks you to follow. Come when they ask, come to group on time, expect to do a urine analysis, and contribute in group therapy. That's not difficult. The staff help and do their best to get you out the door if they are running behind. I have no met an employee who doesn't care and all of them are working hard to get you the help you need. I was so nervous to start group therapy cause I've never been to group therapy, but I'm never against trying something I've never done. Now I go to group whenever I can and I feel my information is kept private. EARS helped me get back to the person I was. And I am thankful for that! And EARS will help you too!! -SLP

I have been going to ears for two weeks now. The people who wrote reviews who said they waited hours are full of cap. I have never waited more than a half hour except one time when zysman was on the phone with an insurance company. Sure I was irritated but it only happened that once. Other than that I was there for a hour or less TOTAL every time I went there, not including group therapy. Sure the building is run down but it is paid for by the state, what do people expect? The four seasons quality building? That's ridiculous. There is only one staff member that I don't like, everyone else is patient and kind and year you like their equal, not a drug user they are using to get money. I think the people who wrote negative reviews are ones that didn't follow the rules and didn't like the consequences. So if you're going to do what they need you to do(like pee in a cup, go to counseling, make appointments) then you'll like it. If you're just looking to score suboxone and don't want to do the work, then sure, go to the doctors that make your pay $175 a month for a prescription. Those doctors don't want to improve your life, they just want to get rich off of real people who want to be drug free who are in pain.

This place has no compassion. Wrong business to be in acting like that. Noone takes responsibility for anything. They try and blame the patients for them not doing their job. No compassion what so ever. Were all just "Junkies trying to get one over on them". Jan the counsler is THE ONLY person in that entire building with any heart, love and compassion. She is a saint. She can do so much better. That place is disgusting. You wait no less than an hour every single time youre there. If someone walks in and its their first visit, instead of making them schedule an appt they cut them right in front of you and they say nothing to you. Noone and i mean noone has on eiota of professionalism in their bodies. Id like to see them handle my job for one day

This was a complete waste of 2and a half hours.Every employee looked miserable,no one was friendly, they just wanted to know your insurance issue and then go wait. They didn't tell you how long and when they found out I was PTSD, Dr. Zysman asked me to leave and go see Pederson Krag. I didn't ask for mental health, i receive that, I needed help in getting off heroin and I have been clean for 2 weeks but the pain is still there. I was in the service so I know what my tolerance level is,especially after taking a bullet. One of the most rudest bastards ever. He doesn't look at you when he speaks. You have to make sure you YELL your answer so he doesn't have to ask again. Rude center, I'd advise you to find a personal suboxone doctor, while they don't take insurance, it is alot less to deal with. Three people in there told me they were forced to go to sessions 5 times a week. A SUBOXONE doctor will write your script and on your way you go. Many friends can afford it, so I think I WILL borrow the money to do it. They just want you to keep coming back so they can make money by billing insurance time and time again while you are a patient there. I know what I'm talking about because I WAS an insurance investigator. THIS PLACE GET'S NO STARS FROM ME. RUDE, CRUDE, UNEMPATHTIC ALL THE WAY.

I was arrested for DWI for being under the influence of alcohol & pot. Dr. Simon Zysman personally evaluated me and sent his evaluation of me to my attorney in a timely manner. My being arrested turned out to be a blessing because it forced me to seek help for my disease of addiction. The EARS program provided me with excellent treatment. I am now drug free and I have a sense of direction both personally & professionally. After completing treatment, My probation officer discharged me early from probation due to good compliance with treatment & Probation. My family relations & work performance has also improved. I am more happy & content with my life.

Don't keep appointment times, always there early and end up being there for at least 3 hours. Very unorganized with patient information, had someone else's files in my paperwork. Don't recommend. Go see Dr. Silverman, he actually wants to help you.

I don't get these negative reviews. These must be people who want the easy way out and want to do it their way (again). EARS provided me with the structure, Therapy, discipline, Psych care, Suboxone and group and individual counseling. Dr. Zysman is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. Matthew Zysman is an unbelievable therapist. I truly feel as though he truly understood me. He challenged me in our therapy sessions and helped me learn a new way to live. They truly saved my life and I owe them the world. These people truly care about you and will go to any lengths to help you. It may not always be the way that I want to be helped however it was the way I needed to be helped. These are ABSOLUTE EXPERTS- GOD BLESS YOU

Initial appointment - do not schedule anything else that day since you will be there for 5-6 hours! There's only one doctor that does not speak derogatory (calls you straight out a drug addict and repeats this everytime you come in, even if you make progress!!) do not come here if you solely need a psychiatrist for other disorders!! They will all continue to refer to you as a "drug addict" anyway! The director should NOT be around people! He does not care about you!! A just categorizes you! Doesn't listen to a word you say! You are better off admitting yourself to the nearest hospital ER and be sent to their rehab program! Brookhaven Hospital has a great one! If you're in withdrawel, DO NOT come here! They will leave you in the waiting room like I said above for 5-6 hours and may not even receive suboxone that day! I've seen so many people suffering for hours! To be entered into the program; you must see the director, who is always backed up! Then a medical doctor, attached to their office, whether he takes your insurance or not! Then a drug specialist (he's a great guy!) and MUST attended a group therapy session for 4 hours a day, 3 days a week!! There is a pain management doctor on sunrise hwy in massapequa, Brookhaven outpatient services in Shirley, Patchogue and Holbrook. I am not and never was a drug addict! I have severe psychiatric disorders and just there for a psychiatrist but they continue to call me "a drug addict" every appointment! They will humiliate you every chance the get!
