This facility took my brother in on 8/16 and discharged him on 8/19 for a serious addiction. My brother has passed out on the street and in his property requiring police and medical involvement. They say that they want the family involved in treatment and when we tried we were denied. The social work first told us that she would talk with us but when we got there she refused to come out even though there was a signed release. We hardly had a chance to schedule an appointment t as my brother wad only there 2.5 of the planned 7 days. In the end it worked out good for my brother as he is now on a plane to Califorina to get reputable treatment. The staff was rude and condescending to the family and told us that someone would speak to us but after waiting 1.5 hours we realized that NO ONE intended to do so.

Do not take your child or loved one to this facility!! My son got addicted to pain pills after 2 surgeries in 1 year. He just turned 18. When we found out he was still buying pills he said he wanted to get help. Unfortunately we did not do any research on rehab. This was all new to us! We took him to Arrowhead in hopes that my son would get help for the withdrawal symptoms, counseling and guidance. Instead he was put on Siboxone against my wishes. Yes my son is 18 but uninformed, scared and uneducated. We were given no information from Dr. We're not allowed to speak with son. When we went to visit it was heartwrenchinh. He was so drugged we did not even recognize him. I am a nurse so I know the importance of educating family members and patients. There was absolutely no communication until I insisted multiple times and had a meeting with the director. Well as of now my son is still on siboxone with no weaning or therapy through Arrowhead. This program is morally wrong, I understand short term treatment esp for heroin and long time narcotic use then have a strict plan for weaning. My son was only taking pain meds for 3-4 months and has been in siboxine for 8 months!! The withdrawals from siboxine are 100x worse than narcotics! They are money hungry and do not look out for the best interest of there patients. Siboxone is very expensive, when they get you hooked on this, drug for drug and then someone can't afford that guess what they are going to do next? Cheap Heroin! Death. Stop thinking about the money and put yourself in the shoes if this were your son, daughter, wife, husband..... I pray this place gets shut down. There are way better ways to help someone from addiction. Isn't that what we are taught as health care professionals?? Your patients may be a number, just another addict to you, but they are people, who are loved and are hurting and look for help. Instead they are lead down a never ending path of addiction to this nasty, addictive, expensive drug that should be avoided at all cost. If I can help any family from going through this horrific experience in thinking that you are doing what's best for your child. Do not go here. They push push push this drug!!!!

This place should be viewed more as a detox than a rehabilitation inpatient program. Ive been trying to stay sober for a long time, but relapses do happen. Withdrawing from alcohol on your own can be fatal. I recently went to arrowhead for assistance with detox. They monitored me and gave me medication to prevent withdrawal seizures and to ease the pain. There were groups and such things, but no real one on one counseling. The psychiateists are more like case supervisors than individual therapists. But if you take it for what it is, and are there for help, not to just complain about getting meds so you can just stay high, its a good facility. Detox stays there are usually 5 to 7 days. Unfortunately, this was not my first time there. But its yp to me to do the outpatient leg work. If you treat the staff with respect, they will treat you with the same. Oh and they feed you really well

Im not sure why people dont like this place. Everyone seemed very friendly. Nurses helped me out whenever I asked. The staff made my stay there very comfortable. The only thing I was uncomfortable with was the living quarters. I never expected anything better though. Its not like youre going to some fancy hotel to go through detox. Overall I was happy with their service.

OMG< DO NOT< REPEAT< DO NOT ever go to this hell hole. You are under lock down everywhere, halls are locked all the time, Some people tried to check themselves out and staff fought with them for hours before they could go. Held till midnight ( probably to be charged a extra nights stay). Most staff was very rude. They over medicate some people so bad that they would bring them for meals in a wheelchair and they would try to eat but couldn't stay awake, Made me sick to see that !!!! 2" inch pillows on a hard matteress on a wood box !!! no TV< Phone, clock in rooms. Its like a Jail !!!

I was released yesterday and was not notified of needing to possibly buy suboxone from them as a pre-authoization would take 72hrs also they do not have an updated fax for Arrowhead at Rite aid pharmacy. This discrepancy left me to talk with Dusty a nurse at arrowhead whom would not check to see if a fax was sent, leaving me to lose out on my treatment due to the fact they would have never rrecieved a fax anyway. Arrowhead pushes people off to the side quite blatantly. I was also the victim of stolen property from an open bin anyone of the staff can look into.

This place is a joke. A loved one went in for the 4th time. They released him after 4 days with virtually no help at all. THey did up his medicine , but the next day released him. He was diagnosed with bi-polar while in there, is severely depressed, alcohol dependant and very suicidal....and they released him even though he wants to be inpatient somewhere. The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over and over, but expecting different results. To recap, they had a patient who they know is a danger to himself and others and released him after a few days with virtually no treatment. To call themselves a mental health facility is a bold face ie.

Physician stopped patients in the hallway to talk with them instead of in a private room for a regular session. Took 3 hours to get message from family to patient regarding pick up when they kicked him out. He was allowed to stay for the detox, but once physical symptoms stopped he was told he had to leave by 5pm. Never treated for underlying mental disorder that they diagnosed him with. Missed med doses. Would never recommend this facility to anyone!

They made family wait 1/2 hour or more after the scheduled visitation to see their family. They lied on the phone about the doctor being on premises to speak to. They lied to the patient about the time of discharge. They didn't get messages from family to patient in a timely fashion. They didn't call the patient for visitation even after family member filled out paper for visitation, and apologized for forgetting. They told family of patient that they could not tell her if named patient was still in facility as patient or not. In a matter of a few days, they were never prompt, never courteous, never honest. I would NEVER recommend this place for ANYONE... regardless of need.

SHORT summary

SHORT summary
Details:

Went there for detox from benzodiazepines. They treated me like a regular junkie. Mind you I took it upon myself to get off of the medication that I was prescribed to. I went there to be safe because of the possibilities of seizures. 8 was given medication for seizures, that's all. My health ailments were ignored. I was so ill walking/standing was impossible, other nurses brought me my medication but there was one who would not bring it and I was told if I wanted it it would be a good idea if I just went up and got it bc she took forever. When I didn't go up and get it she missed my scheduled dose, when I asked her for it she said she gave it to me, when I told her to count her pills and to have another nurse double check her I witnessed with my own eyes her say to her, "I know I gave it to her so just say I did" LITERALLY. When I would go to the nurse window because I felt close to death, seriously, not being a baby I was literally concerned I was going to die, I was ignored for 10minutes while nurses sat there never made eye contact, popping her gum, until I finally spoke up and said will someone please acknowledge my presence! They then did nothing for my concerns, and blatantly spoke to other nurses as if I was retarded and could not here her talk shit about me. When another nurse asked her why she was ignoring me she said because she is acting the same way she was earlier. No shit! It's because I feel the exact way and nothing is being done! While I was ignored I witnessed another person being told by their nurse how to say how he felt in order to get a higher grade to get more Librium. Seriously she said to say that he had sweats, felt shaky, felt irritated/aggravated, felt anxious, to make sure he was given the most Librium to ensure his ease of withdrawals, bc they relapsed for a day! While I had been on medication for 2 years! Never was I sat down politely and spoken too. There were a couple nurses that were polite and kind to me. Never would I treat a person with such disrespect and disregard. You are a nurse you are to pay attention and treat ALL & ANY of your patients with respect and dignity. I also witnessed a patient taken in to INPATIENT, when they blatantly asked for their OUTPATIENT services, they were NOT intoxicated and did not need any medication for detox because they were not physically dependent. When they asked to leave because that's not what they asked for or needed and they needed to return to work they were put on suicide watch and was held for 72 hrs. How can you trust them? Opioid patients were soo high on suboxone they would nod out at groups. I do not recommend taking yourself or a loved one to this facility. Especially if you're a woman, they favor men. Try UTMC, Flower Hospital, or ANY OTHER HOSPITAL BESIDES ARROWHEAD. My extremely important paperwork for my job was supposed to be sent in, which they told me they did, was never sent in. When I called multiple times after release for them to send my paperwork in they never called back. Currently fighting with them to get it signed so I can return to work. If they don't I'm terminated. I will lose my job because of their simple failure to do their job! Terrible place.
