Short-term residential detoxes are inappropriate for benzo withdrawal no matter what the staff or fancy brochures may say (in my opinion). Benzo withdrawal typically takes weeks and months and is best done at home with the proper information, support and comfort measures. Enter Mirmont at your OWN RISK!

It was just a bunch of AA/NA meetings that you could attend there or anywhere for FREE. Staff was rude, cold; and, had personalities of rattlesnakes. Very weird people; sans the nursing staff. The food is good and the acommodations are adequate. From what I hear; you would be much better off going to ASHLEY.

All it is inpatient AA Meetings that you can attend there or anywhere else for free. The only thing that was good about this place was their nursing staff. The rest of the staff were cold, rude, disrespectful. In fact; most of the "CE's" had the personalities of a rattlesnake. The food is good. You will meet some SHADY characters at Mirmont. Buyer Beware...

All in all, this was the best rehab facility I've ever been to. Now I've been to a few different treatment facilities over the years so I'll break down my rating based on how I judge a facility's overall quality. Food: This is the first thing I think of when I think about Mirmont. By FAR the best food of any rehab, anywhere in the tri-state area. Through a couple stays over a few yrs, the chef remained the same and legitimately cares about patients, is one of the nicest staff members, is open to suggestions, and will do his best to accommodate individual needs and tastes. High level of variability in the menu and given that it is a Mainline Health facility, they are required to post nutritional info for everything they serve, which is a big plus if one is mindful of his or her diet. Cleanliness: This is another field in which Mirmont shines. Perhaps the cleanest treatment facility I've been to, save for one in Jersey that was only 6 months old when I was a patient. The cleaning staff is nice and many make a point to remember your name. I was a patient for just over 2 weeks when I was 18 and when I went in again a yr later, one of the maintenance staff greeted me by name as I waited in the lobby. The entire facility is cleaned every single day and is generally pretty spotless. Staff: Clinical-aids/support staff: Many will go above and beyond for patients and most are very understanding nice people. However, they are not going to allow you to manipulate them and play games for your benefit. It seems as though some other reviewers took this as them being cold. This could not be further from the truth. They are used to people trying to get out of groups for any and every reason imaginable and they are going to push you to better yourself and may make you uncomfortable but in a good way. Uncomfortability leads to personal growth, nobody can go through recovery without being a little uncomfortable. Most CA's are addicts and as such, can relate to patients as they have been in their shoes before. Counselors: All of the counselors are good, professional treatment specialists. Every client gets assigned one counselor and joins a group of 5 to 9 on the counselor's case load. It must be noted though that all counselors, in my experience, welcome clients from other groups to come talk to them and receive some additional help during the breaks between groups. Again, most counselors are in recovery themselves and are very relatable.

Excellent place. Gave me the tools to maintain a path of remaining sober. Was impressed with all the staff that worked there. Never used yoga prior to Mirmont, once out I signed up for yoga. Mirmont was VERY good experience for me. I wish I would have entered earlier.

They promote individualized care but everyone is treated the same. You are expected to attend every group 12 hrs a day beginning your second day of detox. Despite what they claim they are NOT a dual diagnosis facility & ignore previous mental health diagnosis. Understaffed. The clinical aides have little compassion. The place is run around what is convient for staff. Your care is based on what your insurance will pay. The place is very loud, doors constantly bang, people talking. Very little down time to absorb the life change. The pace of the program was too much for me & I left the day after my detox for an outpatient program against the staffs medical advice. I am still sober. Over all the program may be more beneficial for young people w/o co–occuring disorders & addicts who continue to relapse. I would not recommend it to anyone I know for treatment though.

I was in there May 2015 I got the best of care, everyone that left a bad review I believe that you were not ready. Someone mention subutex what's wrong with that? And you do not detox for 24 hrs. I was in detox for 4 days of meds for withdraw and others for a week. The one thing I have to say is it was always cold but I don't think that could be helped. The nursing staff was great. By the time I left the workers knew my name so I don't think they were there just for a pay check. I think you people have to check yourself.

This is the worst treatment center ever. If you value your sanity and want to get well go to Malvern or Keystone. This place will only knock you down. You have 24 hours to detox and then you must be in group 13 hours a day. Good luck with that. This place is a nightmare. I wouldn't send an enemy there.

I went to Mirmont in June 2009. I'm glad to see that all the ratings went up because the staff was NOT polite to the residents. I was county-funded which it looks like they don't accept that anymore. I know someone who is going in and I hope they have a better experience than I did. GOOD LUCK to all that go there!
