There may be people here that care, but it isn't everyone. Techs and nurses are not always present, leaving kids alone. None of these kids are in a great place and some of them will lash out at others, especially when not supervised. They do not communicate with the parents/guardians about anything that goes on in here, and will make make decisions about medication asking for permission after the changes has been made. They make no effort to separate people who are having issues, opting to leave people who are dealing with major emotional issues in a hostile environment, which seems like the opposite of what you would want when trying to help people overcome trauma. Don't take your children and loved ones here, there are better options in the area, even if this is a referral. For everyone you see who cares there is so many more who don't and who will try to keep your loved one trapped here. They don't even deserve that one star, they are just despicable.

Beware of the psychiatrists. They are likely to treat you with several powerful drugs that may cause you more harm. I spent ten tortuous days “Pillwood” and I am grateful that I was able ywas able to recover from their treatment. If your underlying problem is drug abuse, consider a facility that teaches how to live comfortably without drugs.

Horribly chaotic facility. Days go by with little treatment in order to get insurance money. Family is NEVER allowed to speak with the treating psychiatrist, yet he is the only one who can make any decisions and doesn't work weekends, so no discharge is possible until it is convenient for him. Trying to reach a loved one is incredibly difficult and time consuming; constant misdirected phone calls, on hold for hours, phones not working etc. This place is worse than a federal prison in my opinion.

Absolutely NO care provided for alcohol detox. This place is what I imagine prison to be like. I came out worse mentally than when I went in, and was basically told at intake that I couldn't leave when I stated my desire to do so before I was even admitted. Food is terrible, some staff are very rude, and no hydration is provided for those going through alcohol withdrawals. That's a very basic need, and they can't even provide that!! There was a water fountain, with tiny Dixie cups, but that was all. And all adults are put into one group in the CD ward, no matter what their issue - several were there for depression or attempted suicide, but no specific help for anything. Basically we were babysat for the duration, yelled at when to get up to see the doctor, yelled at when to go to the "cafeteria", yelled at when to take your meds, yelled at when to go to bed. Just awful.

HORRIBLE! This place was hell on earth. I would call it more of a prison than a hospital. The food sucked and was the same for everyone, even those with special dietary needs due to health issues. Canned and frozen foods just reheated. I checked myself in for depression and was looking for counseling/therapy. All I got was put on lock down and held against my will and accused of being a danger to myself and others. Had to wait 5 days for a judge to release me. The only reason they wouldn't let me out is because I have good insurance. I was not a danger to myself or anyone else. DO NOT GO THERE!

I was thorouly impressed with this facility!! It does take some time to get used too, but was great after that. Don't think that you are just going to walk in and then walk out AMA! You will be there at least 3 days, no matter what! But if you help others as you help yourself you will start to go with the flow and be out before you know it!!!

y husband is in there to detox off of pain killers and they treat them like prisoners. Visitation is only 3 days a week for 1 hour very hard to call and talk to him. They had him so drugged up he said all he was doing was sleeping. My husband said he would rather be in prison then Millwood. There is absolutely no freedom they tell you when to eat, smoke, go to class, sleep, no tv, no books nothing to do. If someone goes to Millwood for depression that place is going to make it ten times worse. My husband will never ever ever go back to that prison.
