Generally this place is only helpful for diagnosable psychopaths sociopaths, manic depressives, and psycjotics. Basically I’d just say you’re going to have to be one to beineifit from this it’s awful you just learn to cope over and over again week after week. It’s awful.

As a current parent of this facilitate I completely agree with the reviews. Most children who entered the facilitate are treated as criminals and most times out right bullied. The workers hired to communicate with the children do the complete opposite of that and i believe it stems from The owners of the center. From the stories my child has told me, i can’t wait to pull them out and give my child the proper love and treatment they need starting in our church home. The center treats your child as a paycheck and i have noticed that with my child’s progression. Please consider all resources before trying this place. Sincerely, A mother who should have took the reviews more seriously

This facility uses DBT therapy and has the best counselors I have ever worked with. There is a very organized step program and it is evident that the staff cares for the patients. There is a lot of parent support available every week. The owners and counselors go out of their way to answer calls, questions, and concerns. The bad parts: Many of the kids are there for drug and addiction problems. That seems to be the focus of the program. The DBT is amazing, and the family and individual therapy is fantastic, but I think the groups and resources offered are way more focused on addiction than depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. If your child is there for mental health rather than addiction, they will be exposed to kids who are addicted and there is a lot of conflict between kids. Some kids are angry and can be mildly violent. I wish there was a way to separate those programs, not only here, but at any facility. They all need help, but I think a kid that is already anxious becomes more so with so much conflict around them. Also, there are bed bugs there! We heard this from other kids when we came in and didn't believe them because kids say things to get out at first, but then our kid got pretty badly bitten. Even after they changed out beds, there were more. He was a mess with over 100 bites on him. The therapy he received there was extremely helpful and I wished we could have the same therapy and therapists, and I wish that could continue somehow, but more severe patients and the bed bugs caused us to remove our child.

Good program with good therapies but the child has to get to a point to want to put what they learn into practice and help themselves too. My daughter loves the people working there and is getting school done but admits she doesn't put what she has learned to work for her. She has substance abuse and mental health problems.

The Center for Success & Independence was a necessary step in our daughter's recovery. I would imagine most patients would not be happy to stay in residential care for 5-8 months. However we tried other programs and needed additional assistance. I really like the fact that the facility is in town (close enough) to be able to participate in family therapy and family group. The Center uses DBT and cognitive behavioral therapy and works on dual diagnosis substance abuse and mental health. It is a very blended community of patient backgrounds. The staff is excellent. They have school so that patients can catch up or stay on track. They work with two sober high schools in the area that encourage follow up care through participation in adolescent recovery programs. They provide real tools that can be applied and it is completely up to the patient to use them. I found the Center through referrals from peers seeking help in recovery. This program was a life saver for them and it saved us. It's not like you are sending your child away, you are an active participant. And your child is given the opportunity to be educated and I will say lead to recovery in a structured safe environment. Recovery can't be forced and as a parent having a substance abusing child that will not stop no matter what to the point that they may kill themselves using, I didn't see too many options. The outcome was progress in recovery and that is success to me. Recovery is not like a definitive 5-8 months and you are done. However the foundation and building blocks have to begin somewhere. We are very fortunate to have a program like this here. For as much dedication as the owners put into the care and this facility, it is completely apparent to me that they have a passion for what they do and really care for the patients.

This place is a fucking hellhole. My parents sent me there as a senior in high scho. I went from suburbia to being locked in with nothing but gang bangers that are paid for by probation or CPS. This place had no focus towards me. Mr Robert and his wife (the owners) saw me as a pay check Becaus my dad was an oil executive and they always treated me like dirt. Most workers are former ghetto crack addicts that also are black and hated me because I was from a successful white family. Do not send your child here. It is a all about money. I remember that while my parents were there they treated me well yet the second they left it was "your parents and their money can't help you now." Literally the worst thing that ever happened in my life. It was basically prison. All I learned there was how to do other drugs I hadn't ever heard about before. If you want to send your teenager to a college for criminals then be my guest. I Went there on 2004 and I still have PTSD today from the experience. I'm struggling not to cry as I write this. I'm sorry your child is having issues otherwise u wouldn't be reading this. But seriously, try actually dealing with your child's problems yourself before pawning them off for money.
