I went to the emergency room because I was having really bad flank pain. I was given some kind of medication that made me really numb but did not take the pain away. After six hours of this drug. I was told I was going into surgery to remove my galbladder. Everything from that moment on went by really fast. They put me through the c scan, then into a wheelchair, and while in the wheelchair, and being pushed to surgery,A nurse was doing a EKG. I was very confused. I remember feeling like I was a organ doner. The nurse told me to write down what I had in my purse. That was the last thing I remember until I woke up in a recovery room that looked like a laundry room. I immediately demanded to speak to the Surgeon or Dr. but instead of a face to face, I was escorted to a speaker phone in the middle of the room. I was so bothered by the whole experience thus far. I wanted to speak with my husband and heard that he had been asking to see me. They said that I couldn't see him until I was moved to a room. I demanded for them to let me see him. I was freaking out. They kept saying that they were going to manage my pain but they did not. When I was moved to a room I wanted the nurse to show me were I signed for that operation. She could not provide me with a signed consent form because I did not sign one. I was so bothered and I still am. I left shortly after against medical advice. I will never go to that hospital or any of the Franciscan Hospitals even if my life depended on it. That experience has made me paranoid and distrustful. I have not been seen by a Dr. since, and I am not sure what they really even did to me. I did get a copy of my medical records from that surgery and there are so many unanswered questions I have. I got a explanation of benefits letter from my insurance. I responded asking them to clarify some of the things the hospital was wanting to be reimbursed for, like 3 different types of implants ? What did they implant in me??? It is still being investigated.... What a Hospital Horror Story my experience was at St.Claire's in Lakewood Wa.
