Bridgeway has never been top of the line where mental health is concerned. The staff seems to have more problems than the clients.Drug addicts getting involved with the counselors. That shows what they really are like. They do not answer back nor set up referred appointment very fast. The services do little good. I have dealt with them since the 70's when it was called Spoon River. The intake nurse has a serious judgmental issue. You go in because you have a mental illness and the so called nurse has a sour look and behaves like you have the plague. Yes, bipolar people have manic episodes. The women looked shell shocked when I went in having one. The Psychiatrist at that time da chow or what her ever her name did little and was rude. I would die under a bridge before I went back to them. I have spoken to a few Medical Dr.s in this area who have saidBridgeway was not a good service but Knox county has very little help for the mentally ill.
