All it would have taken is a minute of someone's time to call for a welfare check when my cousin, a 59 year old diabetic and physically and mentally handicapped (past stroke victim) client did not show for her 6 am chair time. As well her Logisticare driver just drove off when she did not come to the door for pick-up. She was laying in her bed in a diabetic (low sugar) stupor. NON-CARING, IGNORANT PEOPLE WHO DO NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THEIR FELLOW MAN. Where do you think she was? Dancing? Out with friends for breakfast? SHE IS NOW WITHOUT RESPONSIVENESS IN A HOSPITAL. WE ARE ALL HOPING THERE WAS NO PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE BUT HAD ANYONE--ANYONE! picked up a phone and called for a welfare check she would be WITH US NOW IN TOTALITY, not just in bodily state. THANKS AMERI-TECH for "caring" for being aware of your clients.

This Dialysis center is the lowest of low in the 6 months that I,ve been going there, I,ve had 3 cathaders infected, and my Arm Fusila infultrated 6 times by there BS Staff. It took 40 minutes for the head tech Albert, to stick 2 needles in my arm. On 1 Treatment Claudia, Stuck my arm twice, infultrated both needles, Walked away, not knowing what to do. My arm started gushing blood, and her and dianne stood 10 ft away, and said were not going to help you. After Bleeding for 5 minutes the lead tech, came over and pulled the needles out of my arm. There was a puddle of blood, under my elbow and the pillow was saturated with my blood. I reported this to the State and have,nt heard squat. It took a new cathader put in my chest to do dialysis treatments, and 10 weeks, for my swollon ,black and blue arm to heal

This facility needs to be closely monitored. Our mother was a patient there for 4 months and we could not get her out of there fast enough. The place is dysfunctional and filthy. The board of health rating is not indicative of what we found to be true. The food is not edible. It is a holding tank for the dying. I hope someone will investigate this facility. We did contact the Board of Health.

treatment relating to my mother was so poor, in spite of many discussions with management we ended up transfering her to a well staffed, well run nursing home in another area, although much less convenient for us to access, the change has well worthwhile for my 95 yr. old loving mother.

This was the most unprofessional health facility I have ever been in. The treatment leader was abrasive, egocentric and I believe detrimental to the recovery of many of the patients. I understand that she is no longer with the facility. Perhaps the treatment has improved since her decline.

This place is disgusting. Thee ntire house was filthy. All the clients were filthy, looking as if they had not showered in a week or more.Next They were clearly understaffed. The staff was not professional. The woman who did my intake said, "It sounds bad, but it's really not that bad." Who would say that about the business that they work at? Overcrowded. 2 sets of bunk beds in a tiny room with a tiny closet and nowhere to put your things. Everyone had all their things hanging off of the bunk beds. There was a girl there on her first day of detoxing from oxycontin and she was sick and wanted to lie down. They kept hounding her to come to group and participate and giving her an attitude. THAT is not ok. People withdrawing are very sick and need rest. They stuck me in the group room without any introduction until they had time to finish my intake. I decided I was not going to stay here. I asked to use my phone so I could call for a ride. I was immediately treated with and attitude. They told me to think about it for a minute. I said no I would like my phone. Then their attitude got worse. They said you can use your phone for a minute but then we have to lock it back up. I made my phone call for my ride but did not give them back my phone. It is my property, I signed the discharge papers, so they have no right to take my phone. What if my ride got lost? So they told me I can't be on the premises with the phone. I told them that is fine...just give me my things And I will wait outside. They said that they didn't have time to do that right now because they didn't have any staff available. So I said ok I will wait outside and when my ride gets here I will come in to see if someone is available to get my things out of the office for me. I went outside ON THE SIDEWALK (which is public property,) and sat to wait for ride. A few minutes later, The owner Lori came out with a VERY hostile attitude and ORDERED me to go all the way down to the end of the block to wait for my ride. I explained that this is the address i gave my ride so i will wait here because I don't want to miss my ride. She then threatened to call the cops on me If I didn't move off of the sidewalk... which I already mentioned is public property. Not wanting to deal with the drama of having the cops called I walked 2 houses down, and it was really weird because she followed right behind me, practically breathing down my neck. I sat on a curb, she went back in the house. My ride got there and his first reaction was "Is this a crack house?" Lori came outside with a hostile attitude and ordered me to come inside to sign paperwork where she continued to be hostile and interrogate me about why I wanted to leave. I said I did not feel comfortable and that I do not have to answer any of her questions. Let's sign the paperwork, give me my things and I will be on my way. we went outside, all my things had been put on the porch, she instructed me to get them. Then she changed her mind and ordered me to get off the porch. I waited by the car for them to bring my things. AS I loaded my things in the car She was standing there watching me the whole time. She had a bag of my very important belongings: my medications, wallet w/ credit card, I.D., etc, and money. I asked her for the bag and she refused to give it to me. She said I needed to have all my things packed into the car, get into the car, and be driving away and she would hand them to me through the window. THAT is not acceptable. I asked her why she was trying her hardest to make this difficult. Then I said...you will give me my belongings now or I will have to call the cops on YOU. She said no, that SHE is going to call the cops on me, and began to walk away with my money, wallet, credit card and medications. That was BEYOND unacceptable. Again, not wanting to deal with the drama of having the cops called on me, I succumbed to getting in the car and she finally gave me my items. This was a VERY traumatizing experience for me.

Amity Foundation and Circle Tree Ranch was an incredible experience that truly changed the course of my life . One of the great parts of amity is the inclusiveness to ALL groups of people and their continuous work to grow , and expand in ways that can help people better . One of the great lessons i learned was to become comfortable with the process of Change which is part of all life ... and to learn to do it gracefully and without expectation , or the need to self destruct , because life has gotten difficult . Amity really demonstrates exactly what it teaches about inclusiveness, the need to continually be educating themselves about what the new generations of students are going through , and how to reach so many people that have been disenfranchised by drugs , poverty , racism , or prison . ...and i am so proud and grateful that I am an alumi of Circle tree Ranch ,

After 20 years of addiction I chose Amity help me turn my life around. I admit at times it was tough I stuck it out because ultimately I allowed my life to put me exactly where I needed to be. I made it work for me and listened to some experienced people. I found trust. Amity provides a unique approach to treating addiction. Life skills, art, music, exercise, work, counseling and honoring different cultures are incorporated into your program, and these are just to name a few. Most addicts leave a path of destruction and blame others. Stopping these behaviors are not easy and one of Amity's main focuses is based on trust and living with Integrity. While I was part of Amity I knew what I wanted to get out of it and I was able to achieve my sobriety. No place or person is perfect but you get out of life what you put in. I took the best and became the best that I could be. I learned to stop blaming and as a result my actions have helped others along the way. I love and will always honor Amity and it will ALWAYS be a part of my life.

I was a student (resident) in Amity Circle Tree Ranch for treatment from July 2011 to July 2012 and had a great experience, sober to this day and no further treatment besides my informal peer group. I was court ordered but it turned out very well and they helped me decide I was ready to change my life.

Amity on s. Grand ave in Los Angeles has a major bed bug problem with is not nearly as bad as the drug problem. Recently an active heroin user drugged, robbed, attempted to extort, and continuously harassed and threatened a other member of the community. When that member trusted that counslers at the facility and seeked help, non was to be offered. Furthermore, members of the staff actively seeking drug dealing opportunities through the students. Attempts to contact Steve Anderson have been ignored. Sadly this program which once had great reviews seems to have been corrupted.

This place takes some of the toughest cases that no one else wants and those labeled as 'hopeless'. The facility is located in a rural area and is beautiful and serene. It's based on the therapeutic community model, not the usual medical model which is part of why they're more successful in helping the toughest cases. I've been in other treatment centers and the reality is that anywhere you have a high number of drug addicts, there's a higher chance that you'll find drugs. It's a fact of life and no treatment center is exempt from this. The difference here is that they don't automatically kick you out like other places do. They realize that if you didn't have a problem, then you probably wouldn't be there to begin with. This place is focused on fixing the 'whole person', not just addiction.

Dealing with a 16 plus year addiction to many sbstances Amity has helped me regain my life back. I wanted to see all the negative in Amity and for the most part i did, but thats how i been seeing things for my whole life. So of course i can pick out many thing, however i needed to see my part in the decisions i made and how i ended up getting help. Amity made me see a whole new world that i wasn't accustomed to and helped me lessen the feelings of my past. They explored not just my addiction, but the cause of my addiction and also taught me how to be a better person in general. Amity takes the hardest cases and i was one of those cases. I was rude, i wasn't happy being there and i wanted to do things my way, just how i have always done it. I didn't like structure or people telling me what to do because of my own defects. Amity put up with my B.S and showed me that i was worth having a good life. Like i said i was not a nice person, even my family did not want to deal with me. Amity showed me the roughest of courage and when i started to feel again i was a wreck, for so long i didn't want to feel, i didn;t want to deal with my past, the abuse, the abandonement and that lead me to want to leave many times and go get high, however i didn't and i needed to hear the truth. It wasn't always what i wanted to hear, but i needed to hear it. Amity faculty were not intimidated by me acting out and continued to talk to me and try and help me through my struggles being clean and sober. Amity does have a very intense curriculum that deals with everything that leads to addiction and unhealthy behaviors and trust me i did not like going through it. The good thing was that the faculty were just like me, they were ex addicts helping others to get clean and sober and learn a new way of life. All the dr. wanted to prescribe me drugs at the other rehabs and i wanted to stop having a crutch to lean on. The dr. never told me there problems so how could i trust them, theses peiople at AMity were very open and honest about there past issues and it made it safe for me to open up about mine. It took me sometime to do it, but i got it done and it helped me when i left to be able to ask for help and find a sponsor and a local 12 step group. The people at Amity are sincere in helping others because it has helped them. I would send any one that way if they had a problem like me.

i have to admit, having spent 3 months at this place has made never want to use again. unfortunately my decision to stop using has nothing to do with what i learned at Amity, it has to do with the fact that i never want to have to return to a dangerous, filthy, and abusive facility. this place was the biggest joke of a "rehab" that i have ever been to and believe me i have been to my share. Amity is a disgusting institution that is one step above jail. where to start? to begin with there are no certified licensed counselors or therapists. the "demonstrators" are all previous "students" of Amity who were asked to remain and counsel others even though they are not qualified to do so. i was shocked to learn that if i wanted professional therapy i would have to pay for it myself. the staff that we are supposed to look up to and learn from are nothing but ex dopers and fiends who have nothing else in life except for Amity. in fact many of the staff members live on campus because they have no where else to go. students are put in charge of other students thus creating power struggles. you give someone who has never had a leadership position before a clipboard and a job and they turn into evil dictators. speaking of, they have roll call every hour on the hour even when you sleep. they don't even do it that much in a prison! the "nurse" and assistants there pretend to play doctor and withhold medication if they do not like you and pretend to know what they are talking about. Amity forces students into physical labor and if you do not participate you are ridiculed and they punish you by not giving you your mail or let you use the phone. in fact i know of one "student" who was a chronic pain patient and was there to kick his pain killer habit. he legitimately had a very bad back and physically limited. he was forced to move furniture despite being telling the "demonstrators" that he can't do it. he was then punished and had family contact withheld. he was also forced to switch rooms and was placed in a top bunk bed even though he could not climb up and down. just like a slave labor camp, amity breaks you down and brainwashes you into doing their bidding. now let's talk about drugs and sex. this place was rampant with both! i could not believe how much drugs and alcohol were on campus and it was not only used by students but by staff members also! and sex was going on between students and staff members. health concerns! they do not take into consideration the medical history of its students. their idea of detox is to let you lay in bed for days while you throw up and defecate yourself. speaking of, there was a "student" there who had diabetes thus having a sever digestive problem. he would defecate all over himself and get fecal matter all over the beds, toilets, showers, sinks, etc thus causing others to get sick. did the staff do anything to remedy this situation? of course not, all they did was open a window and tell you to light some incense. also there was a young woman who had seizures once week and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. did Amity insist that she leave to a more medically stable facility? of course not! they wanted her to stay because it is more money! and if you choose to leave before your stated release date, they will withhold your personal items. this place is truly just like a cult. i could go on and on (AHCCCS fraud, monies being spent inappropriately, illegal activity, etc) but i will save that for another post.

I have been bring ming my parents to this hospital since late 1980s and had not had a problem. This last visit I am having a terrible experience, my mother was brought in by ambulance to ER and I followed the ambulance as my mother is unable to communicate and i have medical power attorney for her. I went to registration desk and provided all insurance information. I was than told I was not able to come in to assist with her communication difficulties, needless to say I was not happy as I was concerned she wasnt getting the attention she deserved due to her lack of being able to communicate. I told the security guard that this was very bad customer service and for their sake I wasnt a bad or rude person. The security guard proceed to accuse me of making threats and said he would have kicked out by the police. I was outraged and ask why and he said I had a bad attitude, I told him i was well aware of my freedom of speech and since I am not threatening anyone there is no reason for me to be getting kicked out. After about 45 min i was finally let in. We arrived at the hospital at 8:45pm and after a couple of hours i was told she'd be admitted, so i waited, 2 more hours passed and no actions of her getting admitted. So I asked the nursing staff how much longer it would be for her to be assigned a room and I was informed by different nurse they werent sure she'd be admitted because they were still waiting on test results, mind you I was already informed she'd be admitted. Its very upsetting that I have been sitting here for 6 hours now and counting and nursing staff still hasnt determined if she will or not be admitted. Wow unbelievable, thats all i can say at tgis point.

I used Anaheim Terrace for 10 days after complete left knee replacement in Sept. 2010. Overall rehab and care were "top notch", not being an expert in the area of nursing homes, but I still rate them high.

most staff are former addicts. Day is structured with meetings, oral All are a precurser to filling time and getting paid by insurance. They hve billed by insurance company with the wrong code 9 times and are not getting paid at all! The Ins co stated if they continue to do so they will not be paid at all. This place is totally run by the folks that are seeking treatment, during discussion sessions and treatment response talk sessions. The people who :work: there are simply there. That's IT. Just a place to go if you want to see paraphernalia passed during smoke breaks and movie time in the evening. Great place to go if you want to meet your next dealer.

This place came as a last resort to me only because the nicer rehabs had a long wait. Let me put it to you straight, if you ABSOLUTELY need rehab this place will do fine only if you can kick cold turkey and do 10 hours of groups while sick. Listen, its rough but it is a nice clean facility...staff is a joke. Its a clean safe place to detox cold turkey with repetitive groups. Go somewhere else

This place is a complete nightmare. Staff broke confidentially between 2 other clients with me. they didn't help me find maintenance clinics or recovery houses. I talked to my counselor 45 mins in the whole 14 days that i was there. The groups are a total shit show and there is no structure at all. There are 6 smoke breaks a day and when ur detoxing dont even think about laying in bed because they dont allow that. They gave me the wrong medication one morning and acted like it was no big deal. My counselor tried to get me to AMA out because she was going on vacation and i didn't work on anything the whole time i was there. I feel like it was a waste of my time. A friend of mine is there and tapering off methadone which was why he came there. it took Walden 2 weeks to begin his taper that should have happened right away but didn't because Walden messed up the paperwork between there and the clinic so he had to suffer and now 3 weeks later just started his taper and this put him behind weeks for starting another program but Walden Anchor did not care and said his insurance will pay for his extended stay and made it out to be a joke. It just wasn't funny. This rehab is a sorry excuse for a rehab and i wouldn't send my worst enemy here. You will not work on anything and wont be served decent food. It is just like eating in jail. Staff yells at you some will harass you and you will be counting down the days until you leave mark my words. This PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN BECAUSE ITS ALL A BUNCH OF BS GOING ON IN THERE!!!**

My counselor Mrs Laura was amazing. Some of the other staff was very rude at times. But most of them we're very helpful and easy to talk to. The nurses on the other hand....were rude, lied about my medication and almost gave me someone else's medication that could have seriously effected my recovery. Specifically Mrs Susan. Supposed head nurse and has been a nurse for over 30 years?? Yet doesn't document medications properly and almost gave me someone else's meds! Not to mention they told me to bring my entire suboxen prescription in and when I left gave me 40 less strips then what I was supposed to have!! I would never recommend this place to anyone unless Mrs Susan is not there anymore. Its a joke. She's a joke. I would only use this place as a last resort. AND not to mention they WILL NOT give you anything for opiate withdrawal unless you actually show them puke in the toilet.

Staff is absolutely incompetent, treats families like they are dirt, don't expect any call backs from staff if you leave a message. They can't get insurance done correctly due to incompetence. Their "assessment" people are untrained and rude. I have not had a single good experience in my dealings with these idiots yet. If your loved one needs help and you want to be treated with respect and dignity do NOT go here, this place is a joke of how many morons one can fit into a building at a single time, they can't get any aspect of their jobs done correctly.

Medicine mix up administered to client accured due to miscommunication with staff/Dr. Nurse. WILL NOT RECOMMEND....HORRIBLE...HENCE LOW RATINGS. ONLY ONE GOOD THING...NICE CLEAN BUILDING. POOR PATIENT TREATMENT!!!

We placed our Dad in this facility so he could recover from a broken ankle. The facility did NO skin care, so he ended up with several large wounds around his ankle. Because they did not properly care for these wounds, he almost lost his foot! To save his life, we moved him to a FABULOUS wound care center. The wounds were healed and therapy was moving Dad in the right direction. Unfortunately, the two months wasted at The Anderson, were too much to over-come, and we lost Dad. Dad had been living independently in his own home and his mind was VERY clear. As a precaution The Anderson put Dad in Depends. One night Dad rang for help as he had a cramp. He was told to "go in his Depends, because that is what they are for". I was raised to treat all people with dignity and grace. Apparently the staff at The Anderson didn't get the same message. In good conscience, I would not EVER recommend this facility.

VERY POOR SERVICE! My father was left outside for nearly 2 hours, and found sitting in the snow. Facility cited for inadequate supervision. They have not consistently shared information regarding what happened, and we still do not have all of the details. Facility will no longer answer our questions, and simply refers us to the attorney.

If I were able, I'd give no stars. My mother was sent here for rehab after back surgery. Within one week, she passed away due to an alleged myocardial infarction aka heart attack. She was relatively young and in good health overall with exception of her back issues. She nor anyone on her side of the family had no history of heart problems. So this attests to the horrifically subpar care they provide. Now, the facility itself, as well as the staff and standard of care is just atrocious. I've never seen a medical facility as filthy and depressing as this one. The facility and its patient rooms were decorated (or lack thereof) in an archaic fashion. Nothing matched, the bed was a manual crank bed and the furniture looked as if it came from a 60's yard sale. One last nugget of info...the entire floor shared one cordless phone so if your loved one doesn't have a cell phone, don't even attempt to reach him. If you love your family member or friend, do NOT ever send him here. It's literally a one-way ticket to the grave.

My friend and I was given a tour of Andover Village and they showed us this big beautiful room with a nice tv with a nice big bed, I just loved it. So the day I was taken there from the hospital they took me to this horrible small room with a old bed look like from the 1980's, and a table, the tv was blurred. I got there at 4:00pm, when I saw the room I cried my eyes out, they deceived me, it was not what I was showed, I was suppose to get my meds at 6:00 pm and by 7:00pm I still haven't received them, I was still just crying. I hate being lied to and being deceived, I finally signed myself out that night and found my own way home. My doctor totally understood. They haven't even called to apologize. The only good thing I have to say, the aides and the night staff were friendly. It's good to be home, I would not recommend this place. I decided to cancel my neck surgery, if this place lies I know they all do. Even when my mom needed help, a nursing home gave us a walk through and they too showed my brother and I a remolded room but the day we brought her there they too gave her a bad small room. I thought Andover Village would be different, the lady I been talking too was very nice, but she lied and deceived me the whole time, my heart was broken, they are no different. My advice is..stay home and find people to help you, you will be much better off.

the staff is wonderful and caring and go our of their way to help each other and make sure a resident is properly cared for. However, there is not enough staff on the floor the properly take care of the residents so therfore the promptness is 1 star. The building is in need of a huge upgrade and just from the naked eye could use many repairs. As far as maintenance staff they are horrible! They are rude, unprofessional approachable and when you aske them something they act as if it's major pain...I have personally seen this numerous times.
