A year ago my mother came home after a month at the Life Care(less) Center. The "care" place had, I was told, told this place to come out. When I never heard form Arizona Home Rehab I called and was told that they had received information that my mother was not responsive and only fit for a nursing home. The care center denied they had said that. I told Arizona Home Rehab Mother was not that way. That she was responsive and we needed their help. THEY REFUSED TO COME OUT AND EVEN EVALUATE HER. They had torn up the recommend so could not say exactly what it had said. They NEVER informed us or the care center about this. It seems they were just "too busy" to check on every one and made their decisions on who they would help based on a metting WITHOUT EVER SEEING THE PATIENT. They REFUSED TO HELP MY MOTHER. I guess this place is OK if one is in GOOD HEALTH but heaven help you if there is anything wrong with you or if you are old or on medicare. They just don't have time for you. I offered to PRIVATE PAY if they would only come out..they refused. I begged them to come out and see Mother, they refused. Don't EVER use this place.

When I put my child in the Ark,I was unaware that it was group home. I was lead to believe it was a drug & alcohol recovery hospital. While on the phone with my daughter on different occasions I would hear staff calling her names in the background. When I would call to check on my child, they would give me very bleak details. My child told them she needed to be seen by a gynecologist and they ignored her request. She came home for a 3 day visit and I called them to let them know,sh will not be returned until the 4th day because I was going to take her to the doctor. The day I took my child to the doctor. We found out she had a STD. Then took the 3 hour journey back to the Ark. The next day I received a call, saying my child will be discharged due to non-compliance of treatment. Because I had kept her a extra day home to take her to the doctor. 2 months later her friend was sent to the Ark in which he stated, they were still talking about my child by full name. During her time there, she was placed in a hallway for several days for a punishment several different times. A female patient died from a seizure, that staff waited 2 minute's to check on her. All in all my daughter came home with even more problem's. She was neglected, bullied by staff and peers, and a violation of her privacy rights were violated. I would definitely never recommend this place to my worst enemy. Lawsuit is in the making. Also staff would provoke patient's to fight one another. When you first arrive, they make everything seem as if this place is so great. Don't let them fool you!

I was there as a teenager in 2001, and was strong armed by my parents to sign the documents agreeing to the mandatory 90 day program. That’s a separate issue, but I felt the counselors were there to bully you, didn’t listen to your feelings, pretty much telling you the kind of person you were and while 18 year olds can be addicts, I felt the program was completely misguided but rather geared towards an overall method, not catered to the individuals needs. As I reflect on it now, this place scarred me, there is no “referee” in the groups to control some of the outlandish things they can say, and the people can bully you and pretty much verbally abuse you. I was eventually voted out by the group because of “my attitude,” and while some may say it was due to not working the program, I felt I could have used help but it was the wrong kind of help. Felt more like a business model/method for making money, rather than catering to the needs of the individual and for the costs of this place, it’s not worth it. Maybe they have made some changes, but this was the worst experience of my life and I still remember it as if it were yesterday. I’m doing great now and have had therapy over the years in a much more constructive, loving way that has helped me become a successful and strong person. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Unethical, disreputable, unprofessional, unscrupulous, shady, and egotistical bully are just a few terms that come to mind when I recall my experiences with the director of this treatment center. It has been over 10 years since I received treatment at this facility. I am surprised it has taken this long for some of the truth to come to light about her abusive nature and unethical practices.

I was a patient of the Ark in 2007. Like many of the comments posted here, I also was very disappointed with this treatment center. I was appalled at the way they humiliated their clients, the way they used you in doing work on their grounds for their benefit. They collected most of the food from local charities, and food donations that were mostly outdated. I left after 10 days, finishing my treatment with Cirque Lodge. Which I highly recomend. The owner liked to collect her money so she could drive her Mercedes and Corvette parked in the driveway next to all of the outdated food. Do yourself a favor, and go somewhere else. .

I wish I would have researched this place more before I took my addict father here but I was told it was the best from a source I considered reliable at the time (big mistake). When I first brought him there he was heavily under the influence of cocaine and heroin, the counselor told us to take him to Lakeview medical hospital first to detox before they would take him BUT NOT BEFORE having him fill out and sign all their paperwork first which unknown to me at this time was a promise to pay the full amount regardless of completing the program ($15,800) so they had him sign away his money while he was under the influence. They promised to pick him up at the hospital afterword and take care of everything, they did not, I had to pick up my father and take him, they also told me I would be kept in the loop at all times, I wasn't. The Ark didn't do a single thing they told me they would do, I left thinking I had made a mistake leaving my father there, obviously he felt the same way, he called me two days later saying nothing but negative things about the place saying he was leaving. We then received a letter from a collection agency representing the Ark demanding payment in full for a $15,800 bill. Again he was there for only two days and he signed those papers while under the influence of heroin and cocaine. we are fully willing to pay for the 2 days so I called and was told we signed and would have to pay the full amount, I was told very smugly by the person on the phone "we always collect". Trying to collect the full amount for one month after providing only 2 days of service is 100% unethical to say the very least. These people do not care about anything but money, I bet they make most of there money from their lawyers and collection agencies. so do your loved one a favor and take them somewhere else.

The owner of the ARK is very rude and argumentative. The staff does not keep the family well informed about the treatment and get very defensive and angry when you bring this up or ask questions. A business where people psyche is at stake should NOT be a family business. It is difficult to complain when all concerned are related and are more concerned about defending each other than the treatment of the patients.

Run away from this place. There is no recovery just another dump that wants your money and will soak your insurance. Don't ever get a court ordered evaluation here. If they cannot suggest treatment for why you were sent there they will hit you up for something else even though they are unqualified to make such a suggestion. All they want is your money so go with a well respected and known establishment.

Inconsiderate, even beliigerent, service, both from nurses (one in particular) and from administration. We were misled as to length of stay, which ended up costing my mother three days out-of-pocket, for which she got nothing in return. Their method of air-conditioning is placing loud fans in the hallway. Nothing about this place is worth recommending other than the nice location.

I would not put a loved one in this facility. The nurses make promises that they will provide needed care and nothing is done. There is no followup. I am not even certain that he is seen regularly by their "medical director/doctor" as he is supposed to. My husband gets fed three times a day and someone brings his medicine to him. That is all the care he gets at this facility. His condition has declined immensely. I want to move him to a better facility.

Arc Manor will not help your loved one. They will more than likely ruin anything remaining that addiction did not already take. Some of their clients don't even need their services but if probation or parole is involved it only takes one phone call from Arc Manor. They use the legal system to force compliance. The different between clients there of their own free will and those ordered through court is gigantic. Arc Manor actually works with people without destroying their lives if they can't use the legal system as a hammer. Their counselors will call probation and parole officers and have their own clients thrown in jail if the client balks at the amount of treatment. They can place people back in a higher level of care for anything. Avoid these people. They will ruin lives of entire families.

Both my aunt and my grandmother were residents of this facility. They were both well-cared for. When I visited, I never found residents languishing in bed, but rather up and attending social events at the home, including live music. Staff knew exactly where each resident was at any given time. My aunt passed away in 2005, and my grandmother just today. I want to thank the staff of Arnold Walter for their excellent care.

Almost three months ago, my husband was referred by the VA for a weekly nurse visit AND two hours of homemaking service every other week. After a couple 'glitches' (such as calling to say they would be here in a few minutes, not having bothered to schedule first...oops, we were just leaving home!)the nurse's visits are regular, although sometimes early, sometimes late. Friendly? No so much... The homemaking service...worse than nothing. We actually had a scheduled appointment once, but she was a no-show. The company was apologetic and promised to get us SOMEONE ELSE. Still waiting, over a month later. Disgusted, thoroughly!

I have been in their service and recommended my other family members who need nursing care to them. We all are very glad for choosing this agency. I hope other home healths can taken an example to be as good as ARPI

Awesome. Would recommend to anyone seeking a treatment counselor that isn't going to tell you what you already know. No BS and no judgment. Went through the 8 week outpatient treatment program, then the 8 week aftercare program, and am sad to say that today is my last meeting. (And before Arrow, I've never found a group or meeting helpful) 10 out of 10!

This facility took my brother in on 8/16 and discharged him on 8/19 for a serious addiction. My brother has passed out on the street and in his property requiring police and medical involvement. They say that they want the family involved in treatment and when we tried we were denied. The social work first told us that she would talk with us but when we got there she refused to come out even though there was a signed release. We hardly had a chance to schedule an appointment t as my brother wad only there 2.5 of the planned 7 days. In the end it worked out good for my brother as he is now on a plane to Califorina to get reputable treatment. The staff was rude and condescending to the family and told us that someone would speak to us but after waiting 1.5 hours we realized that NO ONE intended to do so.

Im not sure why people dont like this place. Everyone seemed very friendly. Nurses helped me out whenever I asked. The staff made my stay there very comfortable. The only thing I was uncomfortable with was the living quarters. I never expected anything better though. Its not like youre going to some fancy hotel to go through detox. Overall I was happy with their service.

OMG< DO NOT< REPEAT< DO NOT ever go to this hell hole. You are under lock down everywhere, halls are locked all the time, Some people tried to check themselves out and staff fought with them for hours before they could go. Held till midnight ( probably to be charged a extra nights stay). Most staff was very rude. They over medicate some people so bad that they would bring them for meals in a wheelchair and they would try to eat but couldn't stay awake, Made me sick to see that !!!! 2" inch pillows on a hard matteress on a wood box !!! no TV< Phone, clock in rooms. Its like a Jail !!!

This place is a joke. A loved one went in for the 4th time. They released him after 4 days with virtually no help at all. THey did up his medicine , but the next day released him. He was diagnosed with bi-polar while in there, is severely depressed, alcohol dependant and very suicidal....and they released him even though he wants to be inpatient somewhere. The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over and over, but expecting different results. To recap, they had a patient who they know is a danger to himself and others and released him after a few days with virtually no treatment. To call themselves a mental health facility is a bold face ie.

Physician stopped patients in the hallway to talk with them instead of in a private room for a regular session. Took 3 hours to get message from family to patient regarding pick up when they kicked him out. He was allowed to stay for the detox, but once physical symptoms stopped he was told he had to leave by 5pm. Never treated for underlying mental disorder that they diagnosed him with. Missed med doses. Would never recommend this facility to anyone!

They made family wait 1/2 hour or more after the scheduled visitation to see their family. They lied on the phone about the doctor being on premises to speak to. They lied to the patient about the time of discharge. They didn't get messages from family to patient in a timely fashion. They didn't call the patient for visitation even after family member filled out paper for visitation, and apologized for forgetting. They told family of patient that they could not tell her if named patient was still in facility as patient or not. In a matter of a few days, they were never prompt, never courteous, never honest. I would NEVER recommend this place for ANYONE... regardless of need.
